Patient support apparatus with notification system
A patient support apparatus for supporting a patient includes a mattress with an inflatable mattress portion with a plurality of states. The apparatus further includes a control system to control inflation or deflation of the mattress portion to change its state between two or more of the states. The apparatus further includes a user interface in communication with the control system, which is configured to allow a user to select an inflate or deflate function of the mattress portion to change the state of the mattress portion. Further, the control system is operable to inflate or deflate the mattress portion in response to the signal being generated when a user selects an inflate or deflate function at the user interface. The control system is configured to generate a notification indicative of the selected state of the mattress portion to remind to a caregiver to change the selected state.
Portable therapy chair
The portable therapy chair is a wheelchair. The portable therapy chair is an exercise device used by a patient. The patient sits in the portable therapy chair to exercise. The portable therapy chair provides a counterforce for use by the patient during leg exercises. The portable therapy chair comprises a seat, a plurality of resistance pedals, and an assistance circuit. The plurality of resistance pedals and the assistance circuit attaches to the seat. The seat is a collapsible structure such that the volume of the portable therapy chair reduces for transport. The patient moves the plurality of resistance pedals. The plurality of resistance pedals provides a counterforce against the movement by the patient. The assistance circuit is an electric circuit. The assistance circuit generates the counterforce provided to the patient.
Mobile patient bed
A mobile patient bed may be used for moving a patient between at least two locations during a medical procedure. The mobile patient bed may comprise an interface configured to selectively couple the mobile patient bed to at least one medical system and at least one processor configured to receive a medical system command via the interface and process the medical system command when the mobile patient bed is coupled to the at least one medical system, receive and process a user command when the mobile patient bed is not coupled to the at least one medical system, and refrain from processing the user command when the mobile patient bed is coupled to the at least one medical system. The mobile patient bed may also comprise a seat and a plurality of motors configured to independently position the seat along a plurality of axes.
Pressure-mitigation apparatuses for improved treatment of immobilized patients and associated systems and methods
Introduced here are pressure-mitigation apparatuses able to mitigate the pressure applied to a human body by the surface of an object. A controller device can be fluidically coupled to a pressure-mitigation device that includes a series of selectively inflatable chambers. When a pressure-mitigation device is placed between a human body and a surface, the controller device can continuously, intelligently, and autonomously circulate air through the chambers of the pressure-mitigation device. As further discussed below, the controller device may cause the chambers to be selectively inflated, deflated, or any combination thereof. Such an approach is useful in a variety of contexts. For example, pressure-mitigation apparatuses may be used to improve treatment of patients suffering from respiratory illnesses and patients who are partially or completely immobilized for extended durations (e.g., as part of a medical procedure).
Elevated CPR assist device and method
An elevated CPR assist device is provided which is suitable for attachment to a stretcher to elevate a patient as elevated CPR is carried out on the patient. The device includes a housing and upper and lower device straps extending from the device housing. The upper device strap may be configured for attachment to the upper portion of a stretcher mattress on, or a backrest of, a stretcher. The lower device strap may be configured for attachment to the stretcher frame of the stretcher. At least one of the upper device strap and the lower device strap may be selectively extendable from the device housing. Selected extended lengths of the extendable device strap correspond to respective patient support angles of the stretcher mattress. The elevated CPR device is lengthened between the stretcher frame and the stretcher mattress/backrest to various desired angles, during the performance of elevated CPR.
Patient Support System And Apparatus For Use With A Bariatric Patient
A patient transport system for use with a bariatric patient includes a patient transport apparatus and a plurality of flexible caregiver interfaces. The patient transport apparatus may include a litter frame and at least three jacks operatively attached to the litter frame for moving the patient transport apparatus between a plurality of vertical configurations relative to a floor surface. The plurality of flexible caregiver interfaces each include a coupling end operatively attached to the patient transport apparatus and an interface end. The plurality of flexible caregiver interfaces also each define a respective plurality of grab points arranged to be grasped by one of a plurality of caregivers positioned around lateral sides of the patient transport apparatus for applying lifting force to lift the patient transport apparatus and the bariatric patient.
Newborn support device and resuscitation device
A newborn support device for supporting a newborn in close proximity to the mother is provided. The newborn support device has a support platform for receiving thereon the newborn in an almost fully supported manner. The platform is provided with an elongated slit which is accessible from a side of the platform and extends through the platform from the top surface to a bottom surface of the platform. The slit enables resuscitation of the newborn on the platform with delayed cord clamping. In another aspect the invention relates to a resuscitation device having resuscitation means connected to such a support device.
Combination pressure therapy for treatment of loss of sensation
A method according to an embodiments includes administering at least two Cyclic Variations in Altitude Condition (CVAC) sessions to a mammal disposed in a pressure vessel unit. The at least two CVAC sessions each have a duration of at least twenty minutes. The at least two CVAC sessions each include a start point of ambient pressure at a delivery site, an end point of ambient pressure at the delivery site, and a plurality of atmospheric pressure targets executed between the start point and the end point. The administering is configured to treat at least one of loss of sensation and chronic pain.
SAFETY CARE SYSTEM
A safety care system is for use with a supporting device that is provided with a surface for a person to lie thereon. The safety care system includes a safety control device. The safety control device includes a breathable lining and a control module. The breathable lining is used to cover the surface for the person to lie thereon. The control module receives a signal that is associated with the person, and separates the breathable lining and the surface in response to receipt of the signal.
