Power saving for pedestrian user equipments

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A first user equipment (UE), such as a pedestrian UE, may perform a discovery procedure with a second UE in a vehicle-to-everything (V2X) wireless communications environment that includes multiple other UEs in addition to the first UE and the second UE. The second UE may, for example, be a roadside UE configured to aggregate V2X messages for the first UE. The first UE may determine, based on performing the discovery procedure, a schedule for the first UE to use to receive bundled V2X messages from the second UE. The first UE may receive, from the second UE based on the determined schedule, a message indicating bundled information from multiple V2X messages received at the second UE from the multiple UEs.

Method, apparatus and system for management of information content for enhanced accessibility over wireless communication networks

A method comprises providing an interface permitting a first user to control activation of a mobile information channel through which the first user can share access to content with a plurality of additional users, activating the mobile information channel responsive to input received from the first user via the interface, inserting content provided by the first user into the mobile information channel, receiving additional content relating to the mobile information channel from one or more of said additional users via one or more respective mobile devices associated with at least one wireless network, inserting at least a portion of the additional content into the mobile information channel, and integrating into the mobile information channel information associated with at least one wireless networking functionality of said at least one wireless network.

Providing secondary coverage in a mobile communication system

Example methods, apparatus, articles of manufacture and systems for providing secondary coverage in a mobile communication system are disclosed. Example methods for a first device to provide secondary coverage in a mobile communication system include transmitting a secondary coverage signal and receiving a presence indication from a second device. Such example methods can also include reporting the presence indication to an access node of the mobile communication system. Such example methods can further include receiving information from the access node to enable relay node functionality in the first device in response to reporting the presence indication to the access node.

First communication device and methods therein, for sending one or more control signals to a second communication device

A method performed by a first communication device for sending one or more control signals to a second communication device. The first communication device and the second communication device operate in a wireless communications network. The first communication device determines, during a first period, that a transmission medium is available for sending the one or more control signals to the second communication device. The first communication device then sends, to the second communication device, the one or more control signals along with a discovery signal, via the transmission medium. The discovery signal and the one or more control signals are sent without data after the first period. The first period is shorter than a second period for determining that the transmission medium is available for sending the data.

Dynamic control and creation of user private networks

In one embodiment, a method in a multi-tenant wireless network comprises determining a first user private network (UPN) for a first device of a first user. The first UPN provides discovery, by the first device, of other devices on the wireless network to a first subset of other devices on the wireless network. The method further comprises determining a second UPN for the first device of the first user. The second UPN provides discovery, by the first device, of other devices on the wireless network to a second subset of other devices on the wireless network. The method further comprises providing discovery of the first subset and second subset of other devices on the wireless network to the first device of the first user. Discovery of the second subset is provided dynamically based on a current location of the first device.

A data processing method includes, when receiving a BLUETOOTH scanning enabling indication of a first application, a first device that receives broadcast data from a second device, sends a scanning request to the second device, and receives a scanning response. Accordingly, when the broadcast data is a data packet of a specified type, the broadcast data is reported to the first application, and the scanning response is discarded.

A method for applying or overriding a preferred-locality attribute during network function (NF) discovery includes, at a service communications proxy (SCP) or security edge protection proxy (SEPP) including at least one processor, receiving, from an NF, an NF discovery request including a preferred-locality attribute or lacking a preferred-locality attribute. The method further includes selecting, by the SCP or SEPP, a value for the preferred-locality attribute for the NF discovery request. The method further includes inserting, by the SCP or SEPP, the value for the preferred-locality attribute into the NF discovery request. The method further includes transmitting, by the SCP or SEPP, the NF discovery request to a network function repository function (NRF).
