Priority handling for prose communications

Systems, methods, and instrumentalities are disclosed for priority handling for ProSe Communications. A relay wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU) may act as a relay between the network and the remote WTRU. The relay WTRU may receive a temporary mobile group identity (TMGI) request message from a remote WTRU. The TMGI request message may include a TMGI, a ProSe per packet priority level associated with the TMGI, etc. The relay WTRU may receive an evolved multimedia broadcast multicast service (eMBMS) data packet from a network. The eMBMS may be associated with the TMGI. The relay WTRU may apply the received ProSe per packet priority level associated with the TMGI to the received eMBMS data packet. The relay WTRU may relay the eMBMS data packet to the remote WTRU based on the ProSe per packet priority level. The relay WTRU may forward the eMBMS data packet to the remote WTRU via a PC5 interface.

The present disclosure relates to relay communication based on a sidelink in a wireless communication system, and a method for operating a first terminal may include performing direct communication with a second terminal based on a sidelink, when a path between the first terminal and the second terminal is predicted to be blocked and another relay device providing a relay service is discovered, transmitting, to the relay device, a first message for requesting the relay service for the first terminal and the second terminal, receiving, from the relay device, a second message for accepting the request for the relay service, and performing relay communication with the second terminal, and the first message may include information on the second terminal.

AUTOMATIC CONNECTION TO WORK SITE EQUIPMENT GROUPINGS

A work site equipment grouping system includes a plurality of work machines including a first work machine and a second work machine. Each work machine is configured to wirelessly communicate with other work machines. The system further includes a local area network including a plurality of communicatively connected nodes, the nodes including the first work machine and the second work machine. The system further includes a third work machine configured to detect one of the first work machine or the second work machine within a signal range of the third work machine and, upon detecting one of the first work machine or the second work machine, automatically join the local area network.

REMOTE USER EQUIPMENT DIRECT TO INDIRECT PATH SWITCHING IN SIDELINK RELAY

Systems, methods, apparatuses, and computer program products for remote user equipment direct to indirect path switching in sidelink relay are provided. For example, a method can include receiving, at a user equipment from a network element, a system information block message having an information element to configure monitoring of paging messages at a common paging occasion, which can be configured for user equipment that are in idle or inactive state and that are configured to act as a user-equipment-to-network relay user equipment. The method may also include monitoring a page at the common paging occasion based on the information element. The method may further include sending a random access preamble dedicated to the user equipment in response to the page. The method may additionally include performing a state transition to connected mode only after a response to the random access preamble is received.

Network function discovery through network repository functions in a wireless communication network

A wireless communication network selects Network Functions (NFs) using a first Network Repository Function (NRF) and a second NRF. The first NRF receives first status data from a first set of the NFs and transfers the first status data to the second NRF. The second NRF receives second status data from a second set of the NFs and transfers the second status data to the first NRF. The first NRF receives a request for one of the NF types and responsively identifies status data for the one of the NF types. The first NRF indicates the status data. The second NRF receives another request for another one of the NF types and responsively identifies status data for the other one of the NF types. The second NRF transfers another response that indicates status data. The wireless communication network selects individual ones of the NFs based the status data.

MEDICAL DEVICE AND METHOD FOR MANAGING ADVERTISEMENT PERIOD

A method is provided for establishing a communication session with an implantable medical device (“IMD”). The method includes configuring an IMD and an external device to communicate with one another through a protocol that utilizes a dedicated advertisement channel. The advertisement period and the scan period of the protocol are independent of one another such that the advertisement and scan periods at least partially overlap intermittently after a number of cycles. When the external device detects one of the advertisement notices, the method includes establishing a communications link between the external device and the IMD.

Proximity services device-to-device communication services control

The present invention addresses method, apparatus and computer program product for setting up a proximity services device-to-device communication service. Thereby, by a transmitting user equipment, a message including application control information is compiled, a scheduling assignment for scheduling the message transmission is transmitted to a device to be set up, and the message is transmitted to the device according to the scheduling assignment. A receiving user equipment receives a scheduling assignment and at least one of data packets scheduled in the scheduling assignment, determines whether at least one of the received data packets relates to a new proximity services device-to-device communication service traffic flow, determines whether a message including application control information is included in the at least one of the received data packets, and completes the setup based on the application control information.

The disclosure describes techniques for automatically pairing multiple source devices to a sink device in response to a single source device being paired to the source device. For instance, in response to a single source device being manually paired to wireless earbuds, the techniques may automatically pair other source devices that are associated with a common user account. In addition, this disclosure describes techniques for configuring a sink device to periodically broadcast advertisement messages indicating a current state of the sink device, which enables source devices that receive the advertisement message to determine whether to establish a connection with the sink device based on a current state of the sink device.
