A network for providing high speed data communications may include multiple terrestrial transmission stations that are located within overlapping communications range and a mobile receiver station. The terrestrial transmission stations provide a continuous and uninterrupted high speed data communications link with the mobile receiver station employing a wireless radio access network protocol.

Distributed building automation controllers

Controllers that control a building's state functions can be controlled by a master controller that the controllers choose themselves. The master controller communicates with the controllers and sensors to determine when a building state should change. When the building state should change, the master controller or another controller determines the device or devices that need to modify state values of the building, and send messages to the devices so that they can change building state. If the master controller has a fault, the working controllers can choose another master controller. When a sensor indicates that a building state needs to be changed the master controller determines which device should change state, then tells the controller that is attached to the device.

A radio relay station is arranged on a moving conveyance. The radio relay station receives downlink radio signals from a stationary base station fixed outside the conveyance, and transmits to destination user equipments in the conveyance downlink radio signals resulting from the downlink radio signals transmitted from the stationary base station. In addition, the radio relay station receives uplink radio signals from multiple user equipments in the conveyance, and transmits to the stationary base station uplink radio signals resulting from the uplink radio signals transmitted from the multiple user equipments. The radio relay station receives from the multiple user equipments auxiliary radio signals indicating a downlink radio signal which the stationary base station has transmitted, detects, within a result of reception of the auxiliary radio signals, a downlink radio signal addressed to a user equipment in the conveyance, and transmits the downlink radio signal to the user equipment.

UNINHABITED AERIAL VEHICLE, UNINHABITED AERIAL VEHICLA CONTROL SYSTEM, AND UNINHABITED AERIAL VEHICLE CONTROL METHOD

An uninhabited aerial vehicle includes: a calculator that calculates position information indicating a position and an altitude of the vehicle; an image capturing unit that captures an image; a lightning rod; a controller that controls the position and altitude of the vehicle; and a communicator which performs information communication, wherein the calculator transmits the position information to the communicator, the image capturing unit calculates a position of an object to be protected against a thunderbolt from the image, and transmits the calculated position to the communicator, the communicator transmits the position information received from the calculator and the position of the object received from the image capturing unit to the outside, and receives flight instruction information, and the controller controls the position and the altitude of the vehicle based on received flight instruction information of the received flight instruction information.

Infrastructure-Device Status-Verification System For Automated Vehicles
20170286784 · 2017-10-05 ·

An infrastructure-device status-verification system suitable for use by an automated vehicle includes a transceiver, an object-detector, and a controller. The transceiver is suitable to install on a host-vehicle. The transceiver is used to receive an indicated-status of an infrastructure-device. The object-detector is suitable to install on the host-vehicle. The object-detector is used to determine a detected-status of the infrastructure-device. The controller is in communication with the transceiver and the object-detector. The controller determines a confirmed-status of the infrastructure-device based on the indicated-status and the detected-status. The system provides for increased confidence and security regarding information about the status of an infrastructure-device such as the traffic-signal (e.g. red, yellow, and green), thereby avoid miss-information caused by, for example, hacking or spoofing of V2I communications from the infrastructure-device, and overcome instances when the field-of-view between the object-detector and the infrastructure-device 26 becomes occluded after the confirmed-status has been established or determined.
