Heater assembly
A television/space heater combination device for displaying image content and for heating air and method of using the same is presented. The television/space heater combination device includes a television, a space heater and, sometimes, a frame. The method of use includes activating the space heater; selecting a temperature value for the space heater; generating heat and distributing the same into a room from the space heater; activating the television; and displaying an image on a screen of the television while generating heat with the space heater. The displayed image may be an image of a wood or gas burning fireplace generated by a continuous video loop; or be images from regular television programming or images generated by data transmitted to the television by a remote computer.
Heat exchanger
A heat exchanger having at least one electrical resistance heating element, two conductors connected electrically to the electrical resistance heating element to conduct electric current through the electrical resistance heating element and thereby to heat the electrical resistance heating element, a heat-conducting element for transferring heat from the electrical resistance heating element to a fluid to be heated, an electrical insulating element insulating electrically the two conductors and the at least one electrical resistance heating element, and at least one tube. The two conductors, the electrical insulating element, and the electrical resistance heating element are arranged within a cavity bounded by the tube. The heat exchanger has an adapter plate and a tube opening, each being arranged at an opening of the adapter plate, and the at least one tube being connected fluid-tight to the adapter plate, which is connected fluid-tight to an electronics housing and/or an HVAC system housing.
Method and device for heating a surface
In an embodiment, a heating device comprises a radiation source that emits a source radiation, a radiation emitting layer comprising an emitting layer host material and a luminescent agent, wherein the radiation emitting layer comprises an edge, an emitting layer first surface, and an emitting layer second surface; wherein the radiation source is coupled to the edge, wherein the source radiation is transmitted from the radiation source through the edge and excites the luminescent agent, whereafter the luminescent agent emits an emitted radiation, wherein at least a portion of the emitted radiation exits through the emitting layer second surface through an escape cone; an absorber layer, wherein the absorber layer comprises an absorber layer first surface and wherein the absorber layer first surface is in direct contact with the emitting layer second surface, wherein the absorber layer comprises an absorber that absorbs emitted radiation that escapes through the escape cone.
COOKING APPLIANCE
A cooking appliance includes a knob assembly to emit light to improve an aesthetic feel and user convenience. The cooking appliance includes a main body having at least one heating source, a panel disposed in the main body and provided with a through hole, and a knob assembly coupled to the panel. The knob assembly includes a knob, at least one light source configured to emit light, a first light guide passing through the through hole and arranged to guide the light emitted from the light source, and a second light guide configured to guide the light guided by the first light guide to an outside of the knob.
Methods and systems for cooling a heating element
Method for cooling a heating element of an electric heater in a thermal process cycle comprising the steps of cooling the heating element at a first cooling rate from a first temperature to a second temperature and cooling the heating element at a second cooling rate from the second temperature to a third temperature, wherein the second cooling rate is faster than the first cooling rate.

Thermally insulating electrical contact probe
A thermally insulating electrical contact probe including a mounting plate having a tubular pin guide defining a pin pass-through, a cover coupled to the mounting plate and having a neck portion enclosing the pin guide, and an insulating pin having a shank portion disposed within the pin pass-through and defining a conductor pass-through, a flange portion extending radially outwardly from the shank portion above a top of the pin guide, and a pocket portion extending from the flange portion and defining a pocket. The electrical contact probe may further include a spring disposed intermediate the flange portion and the mounting plate, the spring biasing the flange portion away from the mounting plate, an electrical contact pad disposed within the pocket, and an electrical conductor coupled to the electrical contact pad and extending through the conductor pass-through.
Heating system for heating a living being
The invention relates to a heating system for heating a living being, for instance, a person (2) within a vehicle (1) being preferentially a hybrid car or an electric car. The heating system comprises an infrared laser system (5, 6) for illuminating the living being with infrared laser light, thereby heating the living being. Thus, heating radiation is used, which has a high collimation and which can be focused relatively easily. The heating can therefore be confined to a certain region, in which the living being is located. The heating can even be confined to the living being or to parts of the living being only. This more focused heating allows for a reduction of the energy consumption.
