Control of ambient light for a privacy display

A control system for a switchable privacy display apparatus comprises an ambient light sensor, a controllable light source and a display controller arranged to control the light source and the display luminance. High image visibility is provided for public mode operation while in privacy mode visual security level above a perceived privacy threshold may be obtained by means of control of image luminance and display illuminance, in response to the output of the ambient light sensor.

Wireless lighting control system

A wireless lighting control system is provided to create a lighting pattern by remotely controlling a plurality of lighting devices according to groups, thereby improving a lighting effect. The wireless lighting control system includes a first lighting device electrically connected with a first smart device to act as a master, and a plurality of second lighting devices electrically connected with a plurality of second smart devices to act as slaves, respectively. If a group for lighting control and control pattern information according to groups are selected from the first smart device, the first lighting device transmits the control pattern information according to the groups to the second lighting devices through a wireless communication scheme. At least one of lighting units of the second lighting devices and display units of the second smart devices is controlled based on the control pattern information according to the groups.

Backup power source and control for power over ethernet light sources

Systems and methods for backup power sources and controls for Power over Ethernet light sources are provided. In one example embodiment, a lighting system includes one or more light sources configured to receive power over one or more Ethernet cables. The lighting system also includes a battery pack comprising an energy storage medium. The battery pack can be configured to provide power to the one or more light sources over one or more Ethernet cables. The lighting system can also include an output control circuit configured to manage delivery of power from the battery pack to the one or more light sources.

Lighting control

A system comprising: a controller configured to apply at least one illumination setting to at least one illumination source, thereby causing the illumination source to emit light according to the applied illumination setting; electronic storage accessible to the controller; and a locking device configured to generate a lock command pertaining to the applied illumination setting, wherein the system is configured to mark the illumination setting as locked in the electronic storage in response to the lock command; wherein the controller is configured to receive a control command pertaining to the applied illumination setting, and modify the applied illumination setting according that control command unless the illumination setting is marked as locked when it is received, wherein the illumination setting is not modified in response to that control command in that event.

Solar-powered lamps

A solar-powered lamp is disclosed. The lamp includes a plurality of radiating extensions, each being formed from a plurality of flat panels that can fold relative to each other along lines between respective ones of the plurality of flat panels; and an electronics assembly, wherein the lamp is collapsible, and the flat panels for each of the radiating extensions fold relative to each other as the lamp is collapsed.

DIRECT-CURRENT POWER DISTRIBUTION IN A CONTROL SYSTEM

A control system may include a direct-current (DC) power bus for charging internal energy storage elements in control devices of the control system. For example, the control devices may be motorized window treatments configured to adjust a position of a covering material to control the amount of daylight entering a space. The system may include a bus power supply that may generate a DC voltage on the DC power bus. For example, the DC power bus may extend from the bus power supply around the perimeter of a floor of the building and may be connected to all of the motorized window treatments on the floor (e.g., in a daisy-chain configuration). An over-power protection circuit may be configured to disconnect the bus power supply if a bus current exceeds a threshold for a period of time.
