System for testing and/or training the vision of a user
A system for testing and/or training the vision of a user is disclosed herein. The system includes a motion sensing device, a visual display device having an output screen, and a data processing device operatively coupled to the motion sensing device and the visual display device. In one embodiment, the data processing device is programmed to generate and display a configuration of a visual object on the visual display device during the same cycle of rotational head displacement when the actual head velocity or speed for the user reaches or exceeds a prescribed threshold percentage of the target velocity or speed. In another embodiment, the data processing device is programmed to increase a value of a prescribed amplitude or period for the head rotational displacement of the user for a successive trial of a test or training routine when a peak head velocity or speed is determined to have increased.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR ENHANCING OR REHABILITATING THE COGNITIVE SKILLS OF A SUBJECT
A system for enhancing or rehabilitating cognitive skills of a subject includes a wearable optical instrument provided with at least one prismatic lens that diverts a beam of light rays coming from a visual target stimulus to induce a vision perturbation thereof by the subject, and at least one housing seat that rotatably supports the at least one prismatic lens.
PROJECTION OF DEFOCUSED IMAGES ON THE PERIPHERAL RETINA TO TREAT REFRACTIVE ERROR
An apparatus to treat refractive error of the eye comprises one or more optics configured to project stimuli comprising out of focus images onto the peripheral retina outside the macula. While the stimuli can be configured in many ways, in some embodiments the stimuli are arranged to decrease interference with central vison such as macular vision. The stimuli can be out of focus images may comprise an amount of defocus within a range from about 3 Diopters (“D”) to about 6 D. In some embodiments, the brightness of the stimuli is greater than a brightness of background illumination by an appropriate amount such as at least 3 times the background brightness. In some embodiments, each of a plurality of stimuli comprises a spatial frequency distribution with an amplitude profile having spatial frequencies within a range from about range of 1×10.sup.−1 to 2.5×10.sup.1 cycles per degree.
EMDR THRAPY ANALYSIS
Two subsequent fMRI images taken during or around an EMDR therapy treatment are compared. A change in a trauma level metric in relevant brain anatomy of a traumatized patient is determined and communicated, such that the success of the EMDR therapy can be more objectively assessed and/or the information may be used to tailor the EMDR therapy a during or after a therapy session.
System and method for improving the peripheral vision of a subject
Systems and methods for improving the peripheral vision of a subject are disclosed. In one aspect, embodiments of the present disclosure includes a method, which may be embodied on a system, for improving peripheral vision of a subject using a visual marker on a display screen, the method includes, displaying a peripheral target on the display screen, the peripheral target having a visually discernable characteristic and determining whether the subject is able to correctly identify the peripheral target displayed on the display screen using the peripheral vision. The visual marker is intended for viewing using central vision of the subject and the peripheral target is intended for identification using the peripheral vision of the subject.

EYEWEAR COMPRISING A VARIABLE OPTICAL FILTER SYSTEM AND METHODS FOR THE SYSTEM AND EYEWEAR
An eyewear, including a first receptacle and a second receptacle; a first lens element received in the first receptacle; and a light sensor configured to detect incident light and provide a sensor signal based on the detected incident light. The eyewear further includes an analysis module. The analysis module is operably coupled to the light sensor to receive the sensor signal from the light sensor, and operably coupled to the variable optical filter structure to provide a control signal to the variable optical filter structure. The analysis module is configured to control the optical state of the variable optical filter structure thereby adjusting an illuminance ratio of light transmitted by the first lens element to light transmitted at a position of the second receptacle. Further provided is a method for adjusting a variable optical filter system for an eyewear, and a method and computer program for controlling the eyewear.
AN EYE GUIDE
The present invention relates to an eye guide. The eye guide has an attachment means for locating the eye guide on a wearer and an elongate marker arranged to extend from the attachment means so as to be visible in peripheral field view by the wearer.
Devices and Methods for Stimulating Tear Secretion
In various implementations, a device for stimulating the lacrimal gland and optionally the meibomian gland of an eye of a user by emitting light on the retina may include a control unit and an optical system connected to the control unit and arranged in the viewing direction of the user. The optical system may include at least one light source and may be configured for providing light stimulation pulses to an eye of the user by the at least one light source. Implementations of the device may also include a power supply unit for supplying power to the control unit and/or optical system. The light stimulation pulses activate the pupillary light reflex and one or more reflexes selected from blink reflex, corneal reflex, menace reflex, and lacrimal reflex. When the device is in operation mode a light intensity gradient between the light pulses emitted by the at least one light source and the light around the eye may be maintained at 2 or more lumens. The light stimulation pulses may induce blinking of the eye of the user.
AN EYE EXERCISER AND A METHOD FOR RELIEVING EYE STRAIN
Eye exerciser (100) provides better exercising efficiency because of achieving more focus, consistency and preciseness and provision of controlled movement and selected movement. The eye exerciser (100) includes an object (10) and a movement mechanism (20). The movement mechanism (20) is configurable to direct controlled movement to the object (10) such that the object (10) attains at least one selected movement. The selected movement of object (10) is selected from the group consisting of: rotational, revolutionary, simultaneous rotational and revolutionary, vertical, horizontal and oscillation movements. The best method is providing simultaneous rotational movement and revolutionary movement of object (10) which provides left to right, right to left, up to down, down to up, clockwise, counter clockwise, near and far movements of the eye or eyes (12) of the user (11) and thus relieve eye strain.
