Systems and methods for exerting force on bodies
11672726 · 2023-06-13 ·

Systems and methods for exerting forces on a body, including a support structure defining a space and a plurality of surface contacting units that are configured to exert force upon the body, such that the weight is distributed away from the primary weight bearing regions to non-weight bearing regions of the body, or vice versa, without exerting significant shear or frictional forces on surfaces of the body. The systems and methods may be used to exert forces to cause fluid shift in different compartments of the body. Applications include treatment of various disease conditions including pressure ulcers, heart failure, high blood pressure, preeclampsia, osteoporosis, injuries of spine and to slow microgravity-induced bone and muscle loss. The systems and methods may be used to simulate gravity, weightlessness or buoyancy, in rehabilitation medicine. The system may include a chair, bed, a wearable suit or an exoskeleton.

A unit has been designed to be applied within the area of physiotherapy and is applicable to both medical and athletic therapeutic programs to provide correction of functional states of the spine and the nervous system to eliminate nervous overloads, fatigue, and stress. Moreover, the unit corrects spinal disorders, paravertebral muscular disorders and can be used as a part of mobilizing procedures to act on biologically active body points, and as a part of therapeutic procedures to relieve the spine.

Multi-Layered Massage Tool

A multi-layered hand-held massage tool for fascial manipulation includes a weight plate having a first side, a second side opposite from the first side, and an outer edge. The massage tool also includes a first outer layer located on the first side of the weight plate to form a first side of the massage tool, and a second outer layer located on the second side of the weight plate to form a second side of the massage tool. The multi-layered hand-held massage tool has a massage surface, adapted for fascial manipulation, coupling the first side of the massage tool to the second side of the massage tool and covering at least a portion of the outer edge of the weight plate.

Compression garment

In an embodiment, a compression garment can include one or more of a flex frame, a shape memory material, a backing, and a control module. In some variations, the flex frame can include a set of support regions, a set of cutout regions, a set of bridges, one or more terminals, and one or more rotation points. In some variations, the compression garment 100 can further include a fabric sleeve, one or more fasteners, a power module, and/or any other suitable component. The compression garment functions as a compression device (e.g., to improve circulation, enhance muscle recovery, etc.), and can additionally or alternatively function as a passive compression device, a heating and/or cooling device, or perform any other suitable functionality.

A massage and muscle release tool having a base having four sides divided into two adjacent pairs of sides with the sides of each pair being of equal length. Each of the sides arms are joined by a corner defining a front and back corner and opposed side corners. A handle extends from the base. There are a plurality of rounded protrusions protruding from the bottom and the protrusions, corners, sides and handle can all be used to manipulate muscles in various ways to alleviate adverse physical conditions.

System and method for reduced pressure charging

A reduced pressure treatment system includes a compressible chamber positionable beneath a foot of a user and being movable between an expanded position and a compressed position. The compressible chamber includes an inlet and an outlet. An inlet valve is in fluid communication with the inlet to prevent fluid within the compressible chamber from exiting the inlet, and an outlet valve is in fluid communication with the outlet to prevent fluid from entering the compressible chamber through the outlet. A biasing member is disposed within the compressible chamber to bias the compressible chamber toward the expanded position, and a manifold is positionable at a tissue site and in fluid communication with the inlet of the compressible chamber.

A use state-switchable massage device includes a backrest part and a seat part. In the use state-switchable massage device, the use state can be switched so that a user may perform a massage while sitting (sitting-mode) or lying down (lying-mode). When the use state is switched from the sitting state to the lying state, the massage may be performed in a state in which the user's waist is fully stretched (a state in which the spine is straightened while being curved upward).

Compression sleeve with massage rollers
