Electro-actuatable compression garments with shape memory elements

A compression garment having one or more flex frames that can be shortened or lengthened to apply or release a compressive force to the limb or other anatomical feature of a user. The compression garment can have a wire made of shape memory material (shape memory alloy). A controller of the compression garment can supply an electrical input to the wire, generating heat that can cause the wire to contract such that the flex frame deflects to a shorter length to apply a compressive force to the limb or other anatomical feature of the user. The one or more flex frames can be contracted in unison or in sequence to direct the flow of bodily fluids in the limb or other anatomical feature of the user.

Various assemblies can be used to transition the air cell apparatus between the retracted and extended positions. Other embodiments are disclosed.

TREATMENT APPARATUS FOR REMOVING HEAT FROM SUBCUTANEOUS LIPID-RICH CELLS AND MASSAGING TISSUE
20230065550 · 2023-03-02 ·

A treatment device for removing heat from subcutaneous lipid-rich cells of a subject having an actuator that provides mechanical energy to the tissue. The mechanical energy provided may include a vibratory component that can range between low and ultra-high frequencies, and such energy may include various combinations of two or more frequencies tailored to produce the desired effect on the subcutaneous tissue. Disruption of adipose tissue cooled by an external treatment device may be enhanced by applying mechanical energy to cooled tissue. Furthermore, such mechanical energy may impart a vibratory effect, a massage effect, a pulsatile effect, or combinations thereof on the tissue.

DEVICE FOR DRY MASSAGE BY MEANS OF WATER JETS
20220323287 · 2022-10-13 ·

The invention relates to a device (V) for dry water-jet massage, comprising: a tub (W), which is filled with massage water and runs from a head end to a foot end in the longitudinal direction and from a left side to a right side in the transverse direction, having a film material (F) as a cover closing the tub (W) water-tight on the top side, which film material is simultaneously used as a lying surface for a person (Pe) to be treated and allows the transmission of pressure pulses; a nozzle cart (1), which can be moved in the longitudinal direction of the tub (W) and bears at least two nozzles (D, D′, D″), which nozzles (D, D′, D″) can be fed with massage water from the tub (W) by means of a pump (P) in order to eject one water jet per nozzle against the bottom side of the film material (F); a first drive (3) for the forward and backward movement of the nozzle cart (1) in the longitudinal direction of the tub (W), the at least two nozzles (D, D′) moving forward and backward in the longitudinal direction of the tub (W) with the movement of the nozzle cart (1); and a second drive (5, ZR, Z), which moves the nozzles (D, D′) in the transverse direction of the tub (W). A device by means of which regions of the body of the person that are at a distance from the plane of the film can also be treated is achieved in that the film material (F) has one or more cavities on the bottom side of the film, which run in the transverse direction, are directed at the person (PE) lying on the film material (M) and shape the film (F) into one or more elevated portions (100), which are convex on the top side of the film.

PERSON SUPPORT SURFACES INCLUDING SET BY PREVIEW FUNCTION FOR CONTINUOUS LATERAL ROTATION THERAPY

A person support apparatus including a person support surface including an actuating device and a controller configured to operate the actuating device to perform a set by preview subroutine and a rotation preview subroutine, wherein, during the set by preview subroutine, the controller receives user input positioning the actuating device into a first preview position and sets the first preview position as a first evaluation position, and wherein, during the set by preview subroutine, the controller receives user input positioning the actuating device into a second preview position and sets the second preview position as a second evaluation position. In embodiments, the controller is configured to simultaneously perform a P&V subroutine during rotation of the person support surface.

Dynamically controlled treatment protocols for autonomous treatment systems
11628253 · 2023-04-18 · ·

Systems, and methods relate to a medical device receiving a treatment parameter operating point within a first operating region defined by a first set of operating points for which automatic incremental adjustment of a parameter in the current operation is permitted. In an illustrative example, incremental adjustment may use artificial intelligence based on patient feedback and sensor measurement of outcomes. Some exemplary devices may receive a request to alter the current treatment parameter operating point to a second treatment parameter operating point outside the first operating region and in a second operating region in a known safe operation zone, bounded by a known unsafe zone unavailable to the user. In the second operating region, some examples may restrict the step size of incremental adjustments requested by the user. Data may be collected for cloud-based analysis, for example, to facilitate discovery of more effective treatment protocols.

Automatically adjusting comfort system

An automatically adjusting comfort method includes measuring pressure applied by a user via a pressure-sensor array, determining a pressure profile based on measurements from the pressure-sensor array, comparing the pressure profile to a first limit, determining a cumulative pressure profile over a predetermined duration, comparing the cumulative pressure profile to a second limit, and adjusting one or more of a plurality of adjusting mechanisms configured to alter the pressure profile for increased comfort of the user when the pressure profile exceeds the first limit or the second limit. An automatically adjusting comfort system includes a pressure-sensor array communicatively coupled to a controller for determining a cumulative pressure profile over time, and a plurality of adjusting mechanisms configured to alter the pressure profile to increase a user's comfort, wherein the controller automatically adjusts one or more of the plurality of adjusting mechanisms based on the cumulative pressure profile.
