UTERINE MASSAGE BELT

Uterine massage belts and related methods are generally described. In some embodiments, a massage belt may be configured to compress a uterus between two force-applying components to induce uterine contraction and reduce the risk of postpartum hemorrhage. The belt may include at least one roller configured to push at least a portion of the uterus (e.g., the uterine fundus) in an inferior direction. The belt may be used with at least one inflatable body to push at least a portion of the uterus in a superior direction. The uterus positioned between the opposing forces may be urged to contract and increase its muscle tone to avoid severe postpartum complications. In some embodiments, the inflatable body may be part of the belt and may be positioned proximal to the pubic bone of the patient. In other embodiments, the inflatable body may be separate from the belt and positioned inside the vagina.

WIRELESS POWER AND CHARGING OF PATIENT SUPPORT FROM BED

A power supply system for a facility includes a patient support apparatus with a controller and a patient support. A power source is operably coupled to the patient support apparatus. The controller is in communication with the power source. A transmitting assembly is coupled to the patient support apparatus and the power source. A receiving assembly is operably coupled to the patient support. The transmitting assembly wirelessly communicates with the receiving assembly to power the patient support. A locating feature is in communication with the controller of the patient support apparatus. The locating feature is configured to aid in aligning the power source on the patient support apparatus to indicate when the receiving assembly is in communication with the transmitting assembly.

Medical pressure therapy device and components thereof

A pressure therapy device includes a pressure chamber, an inflatable padding, a seal, and a positioning mechanism. The pressure chamber has an opening arranged for admitting the inflatable padding and a limb of a user. The inflatable padding is inflatable to enclose and fix the limb in position. The seal covers the opening, including the inflatable padding and the limb to seal the pressure chamber from ambient atmospheric pressure. A pump unit is provided to generate a non-atmospheric pressure within the pressure chamber and includes a first valve system and a piston with safety release features for preventing unsafe pressure levels.

METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR TREATMENT OF CARDIOPULMONARY ARREST

A cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) device for performing automatic defibrillation and chest compressions on a patient and method for using same. The CPR device having a balloon configured to inflate/deflate, a belt configured to securely strap around a chest of a patient, a pair of electrode pads configured to deliver shock energy from a shock source, and, optionally, a pulse oximeter sensor. The CPR device is in electrical communication with a CPR defibrillator/ECG computer system that is configured to control the CPR device.

Compression wave massage device

A compression wave massage device for body parts is described, particularly for erogenous zones such as the clitoris, including a pressure field generation device and a drive device. The pressure field generation device has a cavity with a first end and a second end, located opposite the first end and distanced from the first end, with the first end being provided with at least one opening for placement on a body part. The drive device causes a change of the volume of the cavity between a minimal volume and a maximal volume such that in at least one opening a stimulating pressure field is generated. The cavity is formed by a single chamber, and the ratio of the volume change to the minimal volume is not below 1/10, preferably not below 1/8.

SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR CONTROLLING A MASSAGE APPARATUS

A system and/or massage apparatus to obtain massage data from the massage apparatus (such as a massage chair) for control of a virtual representation of the massage apparatus in a simulated environment is developed. The system and/or massage apparatus is especially suited for a simulated and/or interactive environment such as virtual reality/augmented reality environment. The actual motion(s) of one or more physical massage mechanisms of the massage apparatus is obtained in the form of data signal(s), processed, rendered and displayed in the simulated and/or interactive environment as three-dimensional content. A user interface in the simulated or interactive environment may be used in a real-time or near real-time basis to provide a seamless experience to a user.

Methods and devices for remote ischemic conditioning via partial limb occlusion
09801780 · 2017-10-31 · ·

Single- or dual-bladder devices for automated delivery of remote ischemic conditioning treatment via partial limb occlusion involve various methods of operating the cuff in which partial or full limb occlusion is achieved during the periods of cuff inflation. Achieving clinical benefits of remote ischemic conditioning without extended cessation of limb blood flow are advantageous due to lower required cuff pressure and reduced risk of clot formation in the limb vasculature.

MASSAGE MACHINE

A massage machine includes a massage portion that performs a massage with respect to a user and a first storage section that stores a first massage course that corresponds to a musical piece. The musical piece is subject to a selection by the user. The massage machine includes a control unit that is configured to control an operation of the massage portion based on the first massage course. The massage machine may include a second storage section that stores data of the musical piece. The first massage course stored in the first storage section may be formed based on a variation of an acoustic signal included in the data of the musical piece stored in the second storage section. In this case, the control unit may be configured to execute the second massage course.

Reducing Brain Injury By Limiting Brain Motion During Sudden Deceleration Or Acceleration Of The Head
20170304140 · 2017-10-26 ·

A brain injury reduction system provides a protective measure that temporarily or decreases venous drainage out of the intracranial compartment during or immediately before and during a sudden change in acceleration of an individual's head. Specifically, a wearable helmet or other wearable structure of the brain injury reduction system detects an impending collision and determines whether a protective measure is needed. If so, one or more actuation devices provides the protective measure to reduce venous drainage through one or both of the internal jugular veins or paravertebral venous plexus. A first actuation device stimulates a gag reflex or valsalva-like maneuver to reduce venous drainage through the paravertebral venous plexus. A second actuation device can physically compress the internal jugular veins. Thus, the brain injury reduction system minimizes the detrimental impact that may occur due to the sudden change in acceleration of the individual's head.

CPR compression device and method

Improved automatic chest compression systems which use constricting belts, repeatedly inflating bladders, or reciprocating pistons to compress the chest. A bladder is placed between the chest and the particular mechanism used to compress the chest during CPR. The bladder maximizes the effectiveness of chest compressions.
