Transformation and unified control of hybrid networks composed of OpenFlow switches and other programmable switches
An OpenFlow (OF) adaptor comprising at least one OF port configured to communicate with an OF Controller, at least one Non-OF (NOF) port configured to communicate with a NOF switch, and at least one processor coupled to the OF port and the NOF port and configured to receive a first OF message comprising network data from the OF controller via the OF port, translate the first OF message into a first NOF message, wherein the first NOF message comprises network data analogous to the first OF message network data encoded in a format supported by the NOF switch, and transmit the first NOF message toward the NOF switch via the NOF port.
System and method for reducing mobile network signaling
Component for insertion into a cellular communication network to reduce redundant signaling on the network or between the network and other networks, comprises: an extractor, to extract signaling passing the insertion point towards a destination, modify the signaling and reinsert the signaling for sending onwards. The extractor comprises a signal part remover to remove a part determined to be present at the destination; and an inserter for inserting a flag into the signaling to indicate the removal. The modified signal is sent on to the destination where a complementary component reads the flag and reinserts the extracted part from a database of its own. Location update activity often involves redundant transfer of user profiles, which the components herein can save.
IP ALLOCATION METHOD FOR USE IN TELECOMMUNICATION NETWORK AUTOMATIC CONSTRUCTION
An IP allocation method configures network elements and an element management system server in an in-band/out-of-band network management architecture and to connect the EMS server and NEs in the telecommunication network. The method involves assigning network domains and IP address domains thereof to NEs at the periphery of the domains, connecting the other new NEs in the domains to the EMS server through random addresses and information carried by Link Layer Discovery Protocol packets, enabling the EMS server to automatically configure, manage, allocate and assign the new NEs so as for the NEs to operate at the IP addresses. If NEs are newly introduced into the telecommunication network, the new NEs can get connected to the EMS server easily and successfully by receiving LLDP packets multicast by the NEs at the periphery of the domains and other NEs which are already connected to the EMS server before.
Methods and apparatus for consistency check for disaggregated dense wavelength-division multiplexing (DWDM) systems
An apparatus includes a first communication interface configured to be communicatively coupled, via an optical line, to a network device that is disposed in an optical network using wavelength division multiplexing (WDM). The apparatus also includes a second communication interface configured to be communicatively coupled to a router via an Ethernet connection. The apparatus also includes a signal generator operatively coupled to the first communication interface and the second communication interface. The signal generator is configured to generate an Ethernet signal representing at least one attribute of the optical line between the first communication interface and the network device. The second communication interface is configured to transmit the Ethernet signal to the router.
Information Handling System Mesh Network Power Management
A portable information handling system includes a wireless network interface device that establishes communication with a network destination through a mesh network having plural network paths of one or more ad hoc network interfaces. A mesh network manager running on the portable information handling system retrieves network context information from nodes of the plural network paths and applies the network context information to determine energy consumption of the plural network paths. The mesh network manager selects a network path to communicate with the network destination based at least in part on the energy consumption associated with the plural network paths.
Configuration information auto-management method based on intelligent substation
The invention discloses a method of automatic management on configuration information based upon an intelligent substation, the intelligent substation applying the IEC-61850 standard including IED devices and a switch, wherein the method includes the following steps: parsing an intelligent substation configuration file to acquire communication configuration information and communication association configuration information of the IED devices; and generating a switch configuration file from the communication configuration information and the communication association configuration information of the IED devices. The invention can parse the intelligent substation configuration file, generate the switch configuration file and perform automatic configuration of the industrial Ethernet switch in the intelligent substation using the switch configuration file.
Systems and methods for testing networks with a controller
A controller may control switches such as physical and software switches in a network. The controller may generate virtual switches from groups of end hosts in forming a virtual network topology. The controller may receive one or more network policy rules that govern network traffic through the switches. For a given network policy rule, the controller may perform a test in determining whether the network satisfies the network policy rule. The test may be performed based on a testing rule identifying test parameters and expected test results. The controller may perform tests in determining whether the network satisfies the testing rule and the corresponding network policy rule. The tests may be performed via simulation at the controller or by injecting a tagged test packet into the network.
ANTMONITOR: A SYSTEM FOR MOBILE NETWORK MONITORING AND ITS APPLICATIONS
AntMonitor is a system for passive monitoring, collection, and analysis of fine-grained, large-scale packet measurements from mobile devices. The system may be implemented on top of a VPN-based service and using two possible architectures: Client-Server or Mobile-Only. A current implementation of the Mobile-Only design may outperform other mobile-only approaches: it may achieve, for example, 2× and 8× faster (down and uplink) speeds, and close to the raw no-VPN throughput, while using 2-12× less energy. AntMonitor can scale to a large number of end-users, provide enhanced privacy protection, and enable accurate traffic classification. The system may support (i) real-time detection and prevention of private information leak-age from the device to the network; (ii) passive performance measurements network-wide as well as per-user; and (iii) traffic classification at different granularities (including per-application or per device, and user profiling) based on TCP/IP header features.
Routing configuration
Systems, apparatuses, and methods may provide for robust and autonomous provisioning of routing nodes and/or server stacks within a network. For instance, each routing node and/or server stack may perform self-discovery (e.g., determines its own identity and where it has been placed in the network), and determine its role (e.g., how to route packets) within the network.
METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR TRANSMITTING REMOTE SCREEN
Provided is a remote screen transmitting method and a remote screen transmitting system. The remote screen transmitting method may include collecting, on a predetermined cycle, power data from a thin client terminal connected to a virtualization server through a network, determining a remote screen transmitting scheme based on the collected power data, and transmitting, to the thin client terminal, a first remote screen associated with an application executed on the virtualization server based on the remote screen transmitting scheme.
