Basic service set color-based effective isotropic radiated power assignment for enterprise networks

Methods for assigning effective isotopic radiated power to an access point in a wireless network are provided. In one aspect, a method includes determining weights for neighboring access points in a wireless network based on channel frequency and basic service set color assignments. For a particular access point, a first path loss based on the determined weights and a second path loss based on the neighboring access points are calculated. First and second effective isotopic radiated power values are calculated based on the respective first and second path losses. The effective isotopic radiated power of the particular access point is adjusted based on the lower of the first and second calculated effective isotopic radiated power values. Systems and machine-readable media are also provided.

Lightweight host multihoming

Described herein are systems and methods for host multihoming with no state synchronization between top-of-rack (ToR) switches coupled to multiple hosts. ToR switches of a multi-homing system share a virtual MAC address and respond to Address Resolution Protocol (ARP) requests and/or Neighbor Discovery (ND) solicitations for a default gateway IP address from the host with the virtual MAC address. Ports on a ToR switch may be configured either with a static ARP and/or ND entry, or be configured to learn via a discovery protocol. The lightweight host multihoming system may have modified flooding behavior, ARP/ND handling, and data path forwarding. ARP/ND traffic from a host is processed by a ToR switch, while other multicast traffic may be discarded. Embodiments of the host multihoming system provide a lightweight solution for software implementation with minimal changes imposed on the host or network design.

20230145471 · 2023-05-11 · ·

The present disclosure is directed to systems and methods of managing remote devices. The system can include a server with memory, a detection module, and a collection module. The memory can store a management information base (MIB) having a hierarchical tree of object identifiers and corresponding object values. The detection module can query devices and receive a first object identifier and its first object value, which can vary from those in the MIB; and use patterns to match the first object identifier and object value; and generate an identification of the device from the matches. The collection module can use the identification to select a collection template, which can indicate a subtree of the MIB and a collection pattern; traverse the subtree and identify a second object identifier that matches the collection pattern, and its second object value; and associate the second object value with the first object value.
