Air seed meter with adjustable singulator
A seed metering system, for use on a row crop planter, selects individual seeds from a seed reservoir and dispenses the seeds singularly at a controlled rate. A direct drive seed metering system includes a seed disc having a plurality of suction apertures with a recessed pocket adjacent to an aperture. The recessed pockets act to agitate seeds in the seed reservoir and to direct seed flow towards the apertures. A seed path relief system provides for allowing the placement of the seeds such that they are released from an outer edge of the seed disc. An adjustable seed singulator is mounted adjacent to the face of the seed disc where inner and outer blades are adjusted radially to compensate for the singulation of various seed sizes and shapes. The seed disc is driven via engagement of an internal gear with the external gear of an independent drive motor.
Method, apparatus and compositions for the prophylaxis and treatment of colony collapse disorder
This invention concerns a method for preventing and treating Colony Collapse Disorder, consisting in the use of an automated device that delivers a diet specifically calibrated for consumption by farm colonies of bees to be treated. The apparatus comprises a box-like container (10) accommodating in its interior at least one reservoir for liquid-tight, accessible from outside through a nozzle (4), an atomizing device of a liquid solution or suspension contained in the reservoir, means for the delivery (2, 1) of the liquid atomized solution or suspension into micrometric drops outside the apparatus, and a control unit programmed for timing the delivery of the solution or suspension to the outside, for the determination of the quantity of solution or suspension delivered and for emitting alarm signals in case of malfunction, the apparatus being powered DC with the energy supplied by a solar panel (5) located outside of the container. The liquid solution or suspension comprises tonic and nutrient ingredients, mainly consisting of milk powder, sugars and lower organic acids, antioxidant and antiseptic ingredients contained in plant extracts and healing ingredients to bees, such as essential oils of thyme and oxalic acid.
AIR SEEDER DISTRIBUTION APPARATUS WITH PURGING AIR
An air seeder distribution apparatus has a manifold and a plurality of delivery conduit connected to ports of the manifold. A supply conduit carries a product air stream and is connected the manifold interior. A port valve when open connects a delivery conduit to the manifold interior through the port and disconnects same when closed. A purging conduit connects the supply conduit, at a clean air location configured to receive from the supply conduit a clean air stream with no agricultural products entrained therein, to the delivery conduit such that the clean air stream has an open path from the supply conduit to the delivery conduit. When the port valve is open the clean air stream flows through the purging conduit at a low first flow rate, and when the port valve is closed the clean air stream flows through the purging conduit at a second significantly greater flow rate.
Air conveying system for filling of air seeder tank
An air cart for distributing air entrained particulate material from a chamber or tank to a plurality of distribution lines for application to an agricultural field has a tank refilling feature utilizing air flow from the cart distribution system or from a dedicated pneumatic source. The cart conveying system air flow is diverted and passed through an assembly containing multiple venturis which also receives particulate material from a supply source. The air entrained material from the source is conveyed to and gently deposited in the cart tank. Exhaust air from the tank may be directed back into the cart conveying system or vented through an air diffuser located beneath the cart. Exhaust air which is directed back to the cart conveying system may return to a location closely adjacent that from which it was originally diverted.
MODULAR METERING APPARATUS FOR AN AIR SEEDER
A granular material handling apparatus has a metering assembly comprises a metering module removably mounted in an opening in a hopper. The metering module comprises a meter roller and a front metering member with a metering edge parallel to and at a fixed metering gap distance from the meter roller. A removable flow structure receives granular material flowing over the metering edge and directs same into a distribution assembly mounted under the material metering assembly and comprising venturi devices spaced along the hopper under the metering module and an air supply conduit. Each venturi device is connected to the air supply conduit and is adapted at an output end thereof for connection to a distribution conduit, and defines a product input opening. The flow structure is operative to direct the received granular material substantially equally into each of the product input openings.
Air seed meter with internal drive

An adjustable seed singulator is mounted adjacent to the face of the seed disc where inner and outer blades are adjusted radially to compensate for the singulation of various seed sizes and shapes. The seed disc is driven via engagement of an internal gear with the external gear of an independent drive motor.

Agricultural product application system and method of controlling such
An agricultural product application system such as an air seeder or a sprayer includes a controller, a product source, and a plurality of product dispensing sections. Each of the dispensing sections include a metering module and a product sensor arranged to detect product passing through one or more product dispensing devices. The controller determines a dispense activation delay (d.sub.on) for each product dispensing section by measuring a delay between activation of the metering module and the product sensor detecting product arriving. The delay is optionally used for automatic control of the product dispensing sections and/or for logging georeferenced application data.
