Many devices with “limbs” or “arms” are susceptible to damage when a user bends or twists a joint of the limb or arm beyond its design point or in a direction other than intended. This is common with children's toys. Accordingly, it would be beneficial to provide children with toys employing fluidic actuators that can be bent, twisted, deformed and yet recover subsequently allowing the intended motion to be performed. Further, it would be beneficial by providing devices that employ fluidic actuators, and hence are essentially non-mechanical, to provide users not only of toys but other devices with driving mechanisms that are not susceptible to wear-out such as, by stripping drive gears, etc., thereby increasing their reliability and reducing noise. Fluidic devices allow for high efficiency, high power to size ratio, low cost, limited or single moving part(s) and allow for mechanical springless designs as well as functional reduction by providing a piston which is both pump and vibrator.

DEVICE FOR TRANSCUTANEOUS APPLICATION OF CARBON DIOXIDE AND A FUNCTIONING METHOD OF THE SAID DEVICE

The present invention is a device for transcutaneous application of CO.sub.2, which comprises: a therapeutic chamber comprising at least a portion to receive a part of a patient's body to which the carbon dioxide is to be applied, an inlet/outlet pipe connecting the chamber with a CO.sub.2 distribution system, the said pipe connecting the chamber with a CO.sub.2 distribution system, wherein a gate valve for sealing the chamber is installed in the chamber where the inlet/outlet pipe is installed; the CO.sub.2 distribution system comprising a housing where at least the following components are installed: a first pipe with a first valve for suction of air out of the chamber, a second pipe with a second valve for supplying CO.sub.2 from a tank; wherein the first and second pipe are combined into the inlet/outlet pipe upstream of the valves; at least one ventilator for ensuring air flow through the said valves and inlet/outlet pipe, an outlet pipe for leading the used air from the chamber through the wall to the external environment of the building where the device is installed; and at least one tank for storing CO.sub.2 suitably connected to the second pipe.

Electrodes for nitric oxide generation

Systems and methods for nitric oxide (NO) generation systems are provided. In some embodiments, an NO generation system comprises at least one pair of electrodes configured to generate a product gas containing NO from a flow of a reactant gas. The electrodes have elongated surfaces such that a plasma produced is carried by the flow of the reactant gas and glides along the elongated surfaces from a first end towards a second end of the electrode pair. A controller is configured to regulate the amount of NO in the product gas by the at least one pair of electrodes using one or more parameters as an input to the controller. The one or more parameters include information from a plurality of sensors configured to collect information relating to at least one of the reactant gas, the product gas, and a medical gas into which the product gas flows.

FLEXIBLE LINER WITH INNER AND OUTER LAYERS FOR USE WITH A LIQUID-RECEIVING BASIN
20210137782 · 2021-05-13 ·

A liner for use with a basin to contain a liquid features a plurality of bodies of flexible plastic. Portions of an inner face of a first body of flexible plastic are joined to corresponding portions of an inner face of a second body of flexible plastic, through which a plurality of openings are formed, to provide a multi-layer body of flexible plastic.

Other portions of the inner face of the first body of flexible plastic are not joined to corresponding other portions of the inner face of the second body of flexible plastic, defining an air conduit between the first body of flexible plastic and the second body of flexible plastic for guiding pressurized air substantially from an air discharge apparatus.

PORTABLE OTTOMAN FOR BATHTUB AND SHOWER
