DIAGNOSTIC AND THERAPEUTIC SPLINTS
Splints for diagnostic and/or therapeutic purposes are disclosed. In one aspect, the present disclosure relates to a splint system for diagnostic and/or therapeutic functions for a patient with a vascular impairment. In one embodiment, the splint system includes a splint having: a leg supporting portion and a foot supporting portion, that are configured to support and secure the leg and foot of the patient; a locally and/or remotely controllable portion for setting a dorsiflexion angle of the foot of the patient, including electrical and/or mechanical controls and one or more actuators for setting of the dorsiflexion angle, for providing treatment to improve vascular function; and a plurality of physiological parameter sensors for measuring physiological parameters of the leg and/or foot of the patient, wherein the physiological parameters are associated with vascular function in the leg and/or foot of the patient.
TRIGGER POINT DRY NEEDLING IN MOTION AND METHOD OF USE
A method is provided for a novel application of trigger point dry needling. A target tissue is identified based on the observation of a series of movement patterns performed by the patient. Once identified, a needle movement protocol is used to insert a needle into the target tissue to a myofascial trigger point during one or more movement patterns. The needle protocol is adjusted until a local twitch response is induced.
System and Method to Train System to Alleviate Pain
A method, system and computer-usable medium for training an information processing system to utilize personalized audio selection to facilitate achieving a target state comprising: identifying target states for a plurality of users; identifying a type of user for each of the plurality of users; identifying a plurality of sets of audio selections for each of the plurality of users; monitoring reactions by each of the plurality of users to each of the plurality of sets of audio selections; and, associating a set of audio selections from the plurality of sets of audio selections with a type of a user based upon the reactions by the plurality of users to the set of audio selections.
ELECTROMECHANICAL AMBULATORY ASSIST DEVICE
An ambulatory assist device includes: an ambulatory engine configured to be mounted at a waist of a user, the ambulatory engine comprising a motor and a controller; an article of clothing wearable by the user and integrated with one or more cables coupled to the motor; and one or more shoes wearable on feet of the user, each shoe coupled to a respective cable via a connector. The controller is configured to: receive sensor data from one or more sensors located on the user; analyze the sensor data to determine gait phases of the user; selectively control the motor to tension the one or more cables and provide an assistive force to the feet of the user during a push off phase of a gait cycle.
Systems and methods for therapeutic treatments of various conditions of a female person
Systems and methods for interactive treatments of female sexual disorders are presented. A programmable sexual stimulation device is provided, which transmits and receives data relating to the use and function of the device. The sexual stimulation device may be programmed to implement a particular combination of mechanical actions which have been customized by a user or a health care professional involved in the treatment or preference of the user. The device may also collect data on the type of mechanical actions input by the user and transmit the data to a remote location for viewing by the user or the healthcare professional. The device may also communicate with external devices which aid in the treatment programs, such as audio or image display devices which can coordinate the function of the sexual stimulation device with the presentation of audio or visual information to provide additional sources of sexual arousal to the user.
ELECTRO-STIMULATION DEVICE FOR INNERVATION OF THE EXTERNAL EAR CANAL
An electro-stimulation device where the innervation of the external ear canal is transcutaneously stimulated for treatment of neurological diseases. More particularly, an electrostimulation device having a cylindrical ear insert the surface of which contains at least one electrode being provided with a stimulation end adapted to be transcutaneously attached to the innervation of the external ear canal of a human. The electro-stimulation device is configured to stimulate anterior, superior, posterior or inferior positions of the external ear canal to stimulate simultaneously, sequentially or separately the trigeminal nerve, facial nerve, vagus nerve or glossopharyngeal nerve of the external ear canal. A control unit and a wireless communication unit are preferably placed in the cylindrical ear insert and the control unit is configured adjust the stimulation based on sensor signals such as motion sensor (accelerometer), video/image sensor (blinking movements), EEG, ECG, voice/swallowing sensor, temperature sensor.
