Storage and dispensing devices for administration of oral transmucosal dosage forms
Dispensing devices and systems for oral transmucosal administration of small volume drug dosage forms to the oral mucosa are provided. The dispensing device may be a single dose applicator (SDA), or an electromechanical device comprising a means for patient identification such as a wrist worn RFID tag and annular bidirectional antenna together with a lock-out feature.
Apparatus and methods for dispensing oral transmucosal dosage forms
Single dose drug dosage form dispensing devices, and methods for operating such devices are disclosed herein. In one embodiment, an apparatus includes a housing defining an actuation pathway and a pusher. At least a portion of the pusher is disposed within the actuation pathway such that distal end portions of the pusher and the housing define a volume configured to contain a drug-containing tablet. The pusher is configured to move relative to the housing in a distal direction from a first position to a second position to expel the tablet from the volume. The distal end portion of the pusher is extended from an opening in the housing when the pusher is in its second position. The housing is configured to limit movement of the pusher relative to the housing in a proximal direction towards the first position of the pusher after the tablet is expelled.
Medication dispensing device, control method, and control program
A drug dispensing device includes: a variable cassette configured to dispense any type of drug; a mounting portion, to and from which the variable cassette is mountable and dismountable; a drive controller configured to cause the drug corresponding to the plurality of pieces of prescription data to be dispensed from the set; an allocation processor configured to allocate, based on the plurality of pieces of prescription data, drug information on the drug to be dispensed included in the plurality of pieces of prescription data to the variable cassette or the mounting portion; and a drive controller configured to drive the variable cassette in accordance with a driving condition set in advance in association with the drug information allocated to the variable cassette or the mounting portion by the allocation processor, to thereby dispense from the variable cassette the drug corresponding to the plurality of pieces of prescription data.
Integrated device and system for drug dispensing
A device includes a reservoir for holding an article that has thereon and a dispenser for dispensing the articles from the reservoir. A deactivation mechanism may deactivate medicament held within the reservoir.
Pill splitter
A pill can be positioned on a first housing of a pill splitter. A second housing of the splitter can be pushed downward onto the first housing. A second blade can be secured to the second housing, and the pushing of the second housing downward toward the closed position can split the pill by bringing the second blade toward a first blade with cutting edges of both blades cutting into the pill. Also, the second housing can be configured to slide in a linear direction to split the pill and form a closed pill container space. The pill splitter can include a platform that is configured to move to hide or expose one of the blades. The first housing may include a spring device integrally formed with a foundation and/or the platform, with the spring device biasing the platform relative to the foundation toward the hiding position.
Pill cutter and method for using thereof
A pill cutter and a method for using thereof are provided. The pill cutter includes: a bottom case; a pressing plate provided with a blade and a shield plate provided with a slit. When the pressing plate rotates relative to the bottom case, the blade at least has a protected state and a pill-cutting state, in the protected state, the blade is positioned between the shield plate and the pressing plate after the two plates are separated from each other, and in the pill-cutting state, the blade passes through the slit and reaches the bottom case. The blade can be shielded automatically when the pill cutter is opened for putting the pill in, and safety of using the pill cutter is largely enhanced.
Medicine cup apparatus with ring attachment
A medicine cup apparatus that includes a cup having a side wall, bottom panel, open top, and an interior for holding a selected medicine. A ring is affixed to the cup that can fit around a user's finger, allowing the user to more easily hold the medicine cup and administer medicine orally. The ring is affixed to the cup bottom panel permanently or removably.
Food dispensing mouthpiece
An apparatus comprising a fitment, a neck portion, and a mouthpiece. In various embodiments, the fitment may be configured to attach the apparatus substantially permanently with a flexible pouch containing edible material. In one embodiment, the fitment may include a first hole configured to provide an exit point for the edible material from the flexible pouch. In various embodiments, the neck portion may be configured to connect the fitment and a mouthpiece portion. In one embodiment, the neck portion may include a channel configured to transmit the edible material from the hole of the fitment to the mouthpiece. In various embodiments, the mouthpiece may be configured to facilitate eating of the edible material. In one embodiment, the mouthpiece may include a concave portion configured to hold the edible material, and a second hole configured to transmit the edible material from the neck portion to the concave portion.
Pill crushing device for pulverizing pills and minimizing transfer loss of pulverized pills
A pill crushing device pulverizes pills and then transfers the pulverized pills out of the device with minimal transfer loss and spillage. The device includes a storage portion and a pill chamber. The pill chamber forms a threaded connection with the storage portion that enables detachment. The storage portion stores the pill and operates the crushing mechanism. The pill is pulverized in the pill chamber. The pill chamber is disposed beneath the storage portion. A first spoon retains the pill and carries the pulverized pill out of the chamber along a longitudinal opening of the pill chamber. An optional second spoon detachably attaches to the first spoon to carry supplemental compositions to the pulverized pill.
Multiple pill or tablet splitter
A manually operated multiple pill or tablet splitter for simultaneously cutting or splitting a plurality of pills in a single operation is disclosed. The device includes a base member that provides a flat top surface for loading the pills, spring loaded alignment bars for containing, aligning, and holding the pills or tablets in a straight line, and a close fitting cover member having a cutting blade fitted inside which is surrounded by a retractable spring biased blade guard to cover the blade prevent injury. When the cover is manually pushed down onto the base member, the blade guard is retracted and the cutting blade bisects all the pills or tablets in a single operation.
