TEAT FOR USE WITH A CONTAINER FOR CONTAINING A FLUID
A teat for use with a fluid container comprises a deformable mouthpiece for an infant to suck on during a fluid intake action and an inner core disposed within the mouthpiece. An exterior surface of the inner core is spaced from an interior surface of the mouthpiece at the position of a fluid pocket guiding face of the exterior surface of the inner core so that a fluid duct between the mouthpiece and the inner core is defined which allows the infant to perform a peristaltic fluid intake action. At least one of the interior surface of the mouthpiece and the exterior surface of the inner core has at least one protrusion that is designed to form a fluid barrier between the mouthpiece and the inner core at a position for delimiting the fluid duct at the sides thereof.
Feeding Nipple with Penetrable Side Entry Tube for Administration of Liquid Medicine
The invention is a hollow nipple containing a side-entry tube and aperture that solves the problem of administering fluid medicines to infants or babies by combining the comfort of a common baby bottle, containing accustomed milk or formula, with the use of an industry common, over-the-counter oral medicine syringe by allowing for the syringe to be inserted into the side-entry tube and aperture so that the medicine can mix with the milk or formula and be quickly consumed while the care provider has the option of manually regulating the flow of the medicine into the nipple. The invention therefore avoids the need for administering such fluid medicine directly into the mouth, or even mixing it into the contents of the bottle where the medicine may not be fully or timely consumed. The invention has applications not only with human infants and babies but also in the field of animal care.
Container
A container (10) is described. The container (10) comprises: a first receptacle (12) defining a first chamber (16) and having a first aperture (32); and a second receptacle (14) defining a second chamber (18) and having a second aperture (42). The container (10) also includes a reclosable opening which allows access to the first and second receptacles (12, 14). The second receptacle (14) is movably mounted upon the first receptacle (12) such that the first and second apertures (32, 42) may be aligned to allow the contents of the second chamber (18) to be introduced into the first chamber (16).

AUTOMATIC PACING SYSTEM FOR A BABY BOTTLE
A baby bottle, an insert for a baby bottle, a baby bottle including an insert, and a method of feeding an infant that serves to pace the infant's feeding rhythm. Generally, these devices and methods will be of use for a preterm infant who lacks coordination of the suck-swallow-breathe synchrony, but can also be used with full term infants who can benefit from rigid control of the flow of milk from a bottle, this includes, but is not limited to, infants with gastroesophageal reflux who can require pacing of feeds to allow for gastric emptying. The device generally cues the infant to swallow and breathe after each 1-4 sucks by stopping the flow of the fluid from the bottle after the infant has sucked sufficiently or a predetermined period of time has passed. Once the baby breathes or a period of time passes, the bottle resets for the next repetition. The device also serves to consistently slow the flow of milk during oral feeding.
BREAST PUMP AND FEEDING KIT
A breast pump (1) comprises a cup member (2) and a container (3). The cup member (2) has a breast engaging portion (4) configured to seal to a breast. The container (3) is configured to be removably and sealingly connected to the cup member (2). The container (3) is configured to be deformed by a user and released to create suction on the breast to pump breast milk into the container (3). A breast pump (1) and feeding kit for pumping, storing and feeding breast milk is also disclosed. The kit comprises a deformable container (3) which may be attached to one of a cup member (2), a teat (18), or a lid (32). The teat (18) is configured to feed breast milk from the container (3) to a baby. The lid (32) is configured to secure the breast milk in the container for storage.
HIGH FLOW THERAPY DEVICE UTILIZING A NON-SEALING RESPIRATORY INTERFACE AND RELATED METHODS
A high flow therapy system for delivering heated and humidified respiratory gas to an airway of a patient includes a respiratory gas flow pathway for delivering the respiratory gas to the airway of the patient by way of a non-sealing respiratory interface; wherein flow rate of the respiratory gas is controlled by a microprocessor, a mixing area for mixing a first gas and a second gas in the respiratory gas flow pathway, a humidification area downstream of the mixing area and configured for humidifying respiratory gas in the respiratory gas flow pathway, and a heated delivery conduit for minimizing condensation of humidified respiratory gas.
System for storage, cooling and monitoring of breast milk
A system for storing breast milk includes a container having a top opening and a bottom recess extending into an interior of the container towards the top opening. A container cap is configured to attach to the container and cover the top opening. The container cap includes a probe thermometer having a sensing tip positioned above the bottom recess when the container cap is attached to the container. A non-insulated cooling base has a protrusion configured to mate within the recess when the container is resting on the base. An insulated shell assembly includes a top and bottom configured to connect to each other, wherein the shell assembly is configured to at least partially encapsulate the container, the container cap and the cooling base.
