SYRINGE PLUNGER WITH HINGED FLANGE
A plunger for movably mounting within a cavity or barrel of a syringe. The plunger includes a contact face having a flange movably mounted thereto, wherein the flange is movable between an open configuration wherein an opening is formed between the flange and a portion of the plunger, the opening configured for engagement with an IV hook or other engagement member, and a closed configuration wherein the upper surfaces of the contact face and the flange are generally planar with one another.
NASOGASTRIC TUBE
A nasogastric tube (10) including a main lumen (12) having one or more proximal connectors (14) for connecting to a source of substances or pressure, and one or more vacuum lumens (16) peripherally surrounding the main lumen (12), each vacuum lumen (16) including a vacuum sealing portion (24), which includes one or more suction ports (26) for sealingly drawing an inner wall of an esophagus thereagainst.
Nasogastric tube holding assemblies
Tube holding assemblies and methods for using and making the same are provided, including an assembly for holding a nasogastric tube to a patient's head while also being adjustable along a track that may be positioned underneath the patient's nose but above the patient's mouth and about an axis of rotation.
MEDICAL TUBE POSITION CONFIRMATION DEVICE
A feeding tube position confirmation device 102, operable to confirm the position of a predetermined portion of a medical feeding tube in a predetermined portion of a human or animal body, the position confirmation device comprising an optical waveguide 106 dimensioned to be insertable into the lumen of the feeding tube, the optical waveguide having a sensing distal end 108 comprising a distal end material and a sensing material mixed with the distal end material, the sensing material operable to provide a change in optical properties at the distal end 110 of the optical waveguide dependent on the environment to which the sensing distal end 108 of the waveguide is exposed. The sensing material may comprise a reflective material. Methods of manufacture and use of such devices are also described.
Manufacturing method for a hood type ventilation device
A device for providing a known concentration of blended air and oxygen, or oxygen, to an individual which incorporates a face mask inside a hood, thereby preventing aerosolization of potentially harmful exhaled gases and controlling condensation issues within the hood while under pressurized conditions. The air tight seal required to allow placement and removal of the hood on the individual will be manufactured using injection molded elastomers to over-mold injection molded rigid plastic components.
METHODS AND APPARATUS FOR ACCESSING AND MONITORING THE GASTROINTESTINAL TRACT
Methods and apparatus for accessing and monitoring the gastrointestinal tract are described herein. One variation of a feeding tube system may generally comprise a gastric access device having a length, a controller in communication with the gastric access device, and one or more impedance or conductivity sensors positioned along the length and one or more temperature sensors positioned along the length. The controller may be configured to receive a first signal associated with the impedance or conductivity sensors and a second signal associated with respiration and determine whether a placement of the gastric access device is within a stomach of the subject.
NUTRITION PUMP, INFUSION DEVICE, CONTROL VALVE AND LIQUID CONTROL METHOD
The present disclosure relates to a nutrition pump, an infusion set, a control valve and a method for controlling liquid comprising a pump body and an infusion set, wherein the infusion set comprises a control valve, and the pump body is mounted with a pump wheel; the control valve comprises a valve body and a valve core capable of matingly connected to the valve body, the valve body comprising a first input pipe and a second input pipe for connecting with the liquid to be infused, a cylindrical structure and an output pipe for outputting the liquid to be infused, one end of a coupling shaft is connected to a motor, and the other end is connected to the valve core so that the motor drives the valve core to rotate through the coupling shaft. The disclosure can realize the free switching of the two liquids, eliminate the risk of liquid leakage in the feeding process of the nutrition pump with a low cost and high precision.
PROTECTIVE VEST DEVICE AND RELATED METHOD THEREOF
A protective vest device that will adequately secure an infant from the ability to self-dislodge medical life-sustaining supply lines or equipment, while also supporting proper body alignment. The protective device mitigates self-dislodgement while allowing for free movement and proper alignment of infants arms and hands and which are allowed to touch one another, thereby not inhibiting the ability to explore and expand brain development through tactile stimulation and therefore fostering healthy neuronal pathways of the infant. The fostering healthy neuronal pathways is provided by, for example, allowing the hands to touch one another as the infant develops a sense of where it is in space and time as it continues to grow outside of the womb. By maintaining proper body alignment of infant in the device and the configuration of the device, the device supports healthy musculoskeletal development with a stretchy womb like material to mimic the spring back effect of the uterine wall when a fetus pushes against a uterus.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR OBTAINING CARDIOVASCULAR PARAMETERS
A system for measuring cardiovascular data includes an elongate member having a channel, a first expandable member carried by the elongate member and movable between a collapsed state and an expanded state by adjustment initiated externally of a subject, a first sensor disposed on a surface of the elongate member, second and third sensors disposed on a surface of the first expandable, a first optical sensor located at a first location in relation to the distal end of the elongate member and configured for obtaining photoplethsmographic data, and wherein the first expandable member in its expanded state is configured to interface with the subject's larynx for delivery of at least oxygen gas into the respiratory system of the subject, and the second and third sensors are configured to contact tissue in proximity to the larynx when the first expandable member is in its expanded state.
ENTERAL FEEDING ADAPTERS AND METHODS OF USING THE ENTERAL FEEDING ADAPTERS
An adapter is provided for connecting a container of flowable material, such as enteral feed formula in a laminated paper container, to a feeding tube to enable bolus feeding. The adapter can transfer the flowable material from the container by piercing the container and/or a cover of the container. The adapter can form a fluid-tight friction seal on the container. In some embodiments, the adapter has a reusable tube vent long enough to be positioned in the air gap of the container when the container is inverted by a user.
