DOSING CONTROL COUPLING FOR ENTERAL FLUID TRANSFER AND ENTERAL COUPLINGS AND SYRINGES
An enteral dosing control coupling comprising a cylindrical collar defining a hollow internal chamber and a lumen extension tip projecting axially into the internal chamber, the lumen extension tip defining an internal lumen extending therethrough. In example forms, the lumen extension tip is integrally formed with the cylindrical collar. In other example forms, the lumen extension tip is a separate piece and is removably engageable within the cylindrical collar. In some example forms, the present invention relates to syringes, connectors, couplings, etc. having ISO 80369-3 formatted couplings. In other example forms, the present invention relates to connectors, couplings, etc. for adapting coupling formats other than the ISO 80369-3 coupling format to the ISO 80369-3 coupling format.
Device, kit and method for placing jejunal tube device through stomach and into small intestine related application
A device and method for placing a jejunal feeding tube through a stomach and into a small intestine. A mechanism is formed to a shape that contacts walls of the small intestine along a length of the small intestine to grip the walls and anchor the jejunal feeding tube. The mechanism is present on a distal end of the jejunal feeding tube that is present in the small intestine after placement of the jejunal feeding tube. The mechanism is straightened for placement into the small intestine with a stiffening apparatus.
NASOGASTRIC TUBE
A nasogastric tube comprising at least one main lumen and at least one vacuum lumen comprising at least one suction port for sealingly drawing an inner wall of an esophagus thereagainst, said at least one suction port has a unique concave structure which substantially prevents tissue damage is provided.
Securement Assembly for Enteral and Vesical Access Devices and Related Methods
The present disclosure provides a securement assembly for an enteral access device or vesical access device (“access device”). The securement assembly includes a base and a lid. The base is generally configured to support an external port of the access device and the lid is pivotably coupled to the base. The base comprises a border rim and a central portion, wherein the border rim is configured to engage a skin surface of a patient around a stoma and the central portion is configured to engage the external port of the access device. The central portion may comprise opposing side arms defining an aperture through which a tube of the access device extends.
REPOSITIONABLE MEDICAL TUBE WITH ULTRASONICALLY-DETECTABLE CUFF
A repositionable medical tube, such as an endotracheal tube, a nasogastric tube, or a nasojejunal tube, having an inflatable cuff with at least one divot region therein, the divot region having an outer diameter sufficiently smaller than an outer diameter of both a proximate cuff region and of a distal cuff region as to produce a discernibly-distinct ultrasonic image when scanned by an ultrasound sensor. The medical tube may be further provided with an ultrasonically-detectable coil or one or more ultrasonically-detectable markers having an identifiable geometric shape when the marker is visible using an ultrasonic probe.
Method and Apparatus for Assisting, Checking, and Confirming Nasogastric and Orogastric Tube Insertion and Placement
A long, thin, flexible medical apparatus, a kit, and a method placing, confirming, and visualizing placement of a gastric tube. The apparatus comprises an elongate body portion, a handle, and a distal tip portion. An ability to insert and remove the body and distal tip portions in relation to the gastric tube over the length of the long, thin, flexible structure provides a positive indication that the lumen is not blocked, obstructed, or otherwise compromised over that length. pH indicator sensors and, additionally or alternatively, radiopaque markers may be retained by the distal tip portion. The pH sensors exhibit a verifiable color change in response to contact with a predetermined subject fluid. The radiopaque markers enable a determination with certainty of the location and orientation of the distal tip portion of the apparatus and of the distal portion of a gastric tube in which the apparatus is disposed.
APPARATUS, DEVICE, AND METHOD FOR INFANT GAVAGE FEEDING
The disclosure includes embodiments of an apparatus, a device, and methods to transform an infant feeding bottle into an infant gavage feeding apparatus. According to an embodiment, an infant gavage feeding apparatus can include an infant feeding bottle, a gavage milk delivery component, a retaining ring, and a cord component. In another embodiment, infant milk dual-delivery device to transform an infant feeding bottle to an alternate nipple feeding and gavage feeding apparatus includes a gavage milk delivery component, a retaining ring, and a nipple receiving component. The gavage milk delivery component and the nipple receiving component can be positioned in a branched or a stacked configuration. The device can include a flow closure component and a controller to transition the milk flow for a gavage feeding and nipple feeding. The device can include a funnel to allow milk in the nipple to flow back into the infant feeding bottle.
CLOSED-SYSTEM DRUG-TRANSFER DEVICES FOR SOLID DOSAGE FORMS
A closed-system grinding syringe (10, 110) is provided for liquefying and delivering a solid dosage form (20), including a barrel (22), a fluid port (30) disposed on a bottom wall (28) of the barrel (22), and a plunger (32). A head (36) of the plunger (32) is insertable into and moveable within the barrel (22) such that (a) a portion of the barrel (22) defines a closed-system syringe chamber (46) between the bottom barrel wall (28) and a lower surface (64) of the plunger head (36), and (b) a plunger-head annular seal (42) forms a fluid-tight seal between an outer surface (44) of the plunger head (36) and a cylindrical inner surface (26) of the barrel (22). A solid-dosage-form support disc (60, 360) is disposed below a bottom plunger wall (38) so as to define a grinding compartment (62) between the lower surface (64) of the bottom plunger wall (38) and an upper surface (66) of the solid-dosage-form support disc (60, 360), and is shaped so as to define a plurality of holes (68, 368) through the solid-dosage-form support disc (60, 360).
Fluid management device for medical tubes and drainage incisions
A device, system, kit, and method for managing the passage of fluid through an opening in the body of a patient that includes a fluid-containment receptacle including a collapsible sidewall, the fluid-containment receptacle having a first receptacle opening and a second receptacle opening positioned at opposite ends of the sidewall, the fluid-containment receptacle. The device also including a first flange extending radially outward from the sidewall and positioned at or adjacent to the first receptacle opening and a second flange extending radially outward from the sidewall at or adjacent to the second receptacle opening. SUCTION ADAPTOR FOR HIGHLY VISCOUS ENTERAL NUTRIENT
[Problem] To provide an economic suction adaptor that is capable of suctioning a highly viscous enteral nutrient to a gastric fistula catheter syringe without the intake of air.
[Solution] The number of people having meals of highly viscous enteral nutrients such as blended diets through a gastric fistula catheter is increasing among pediatric patients who need long-term intubation nutrients, and among elderly people who have trouble with oral intake. Suctioning a blended diet on a dish with a syringe alone is undesirable because air is introduced. The suction adaptor of the present invention is used by being connected to the syringe, wherein a suction tube having, on an upper portion thereof, a connection part connected to a nozzle of the syringe is formed in the middle of a bowl-shaped suction pad which is an elastic body.
