A method of gastric tube placement verification comprising the steps of: Inserting a gastric tube within the patient; Providing a colorimetric based gastric tube placement verification system for a patient gastric tube including i) a housing configured to be coupled to the gastric tube whereby stomach content aspirate can flow through an internal passage of the housing; and ii) at least one colorimetric based sensor within the housing and configured to come into contact with the patient stomach content aspirate, the least one colorimetric based sensor configures to detect a first gastric acid; Coupling the housing of the colorimetric based gastric tube placement verification system to a proximal end of the gastric tube; Aspirating stomach content of the patient whereby stomach aspirate can flow through an internal passage of the housing; and Visually inspecting at least one colorimetric based sensor within the housing for verification of proper gastric tube placement.

METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR DETECTING LOCATION OF A SEGMENT OF A FEEDING TUBE INSIDE A PATIENT

A method for detecting a location of a segment of a feeding tube is provided. The feeding tube has a proximal end, a hollow tube body and a distal end, and is placed inside the body of a patient. An audio collecting component is placed on a predetermined part of the patient. The method includes steps of pumping air into the proximal end of the feeding tube, collecting sound to obtain audio data by the audio collecting component, performing audio analysis on the audio data, and determining whether a segment of the hollow tube body is at a part inside the body of the patient that corresponds with the location of the audio collecting component based on result of the audio analysis.

The present invention relates to a fitting for an enteral feeding line, comprising: attachment means configured to connect the fitting to a complementary fitting, a tapered tip coaxial with an axis and a flange extending around the tip and coaxial with the tip, the flange extending away from the tip and delimiting with the tip an annular space configured to receive the complementary fitting, the attachment means being disposed at the annular space, the annular space comprising a first portion comprising the attachment means and a second portion not provided with attachment means, the second portion having an axial length along the axis and the tip having a predetermined diameter at an interface I between the first portion and the second portion, a ratio of the predetermined diameter to the axial length being greater than or equal to 1.0 and less than or equal to 2.0.

System for aseptic collection and enteral delivery

A container for collecting, storing and dispensing fluid, as in enteral feeding and/or medication deliver to neonatal infants. The container includes a hollow tube with a body, a first end, a second end, and an outer diameter. The hollow tube is configured to receive a movable plunger that advances and retracts therein to define a variable contained volume. The container also includes a sealing head assembly removably mounted at an end of the hollow tube. The sealing head assembly has a diameter or outside dimension that is substantially similar or identical to a corresponding outside diameter or dimension of the hollow tube, so that the container lies flat within the receiver of an enteral feeding pump.

Enteral Nutrition Gastronomy Access Device

The present invention is an enteral nutrition gastrostomy access device. A permanent or semi-permanent stoma liner is adjustably positioned within a stoma channel extending through a patient's abdominal and stomach walls. The stoma liner is characterized by an adjustable bladder capable of applying variable torsional force to one or more pinch points along the interface between the stoma liner and the stoma. The stoma liner is configured to receive a plug with a central threaded channel, into which a cap or enteral feeding device may be wholly or partially inserted. The central threaded channel is characterized by requiring application of a linear push force to apply but requiring application of both a linear pull force and a torsional force to remove.
