Magazines for tactical medicine dispensers

Magazines that include a supporting member such as a strap, rod or chamber and one or preferably a plurality of portable medicament cases that each include a medicament provided in a package. Each case has first and second housing members that are configured to form a medicament package receiving cavity when joined together. The housing members mate together in a sealed configuration that prevents moisture or contaminants from entering into the cavity. The magazines are configured for containing a plurality of medicament cases for administration of medicaments to a group of people. Also included is a method of administering medications to mass casualties of multiple persons that are in need thereof. The medicaments are rapidly disintegratable and can include a dye that stains the person's mouth so that medical personnel can determine who has been treated with the medicament.

A programmable pill dispensing device, system, and methods are provided. A programmable pill dispensing device may be used to automatedly dispense a pill, such as a prescription medication, at a programmed predetermined time.

Automatic device for transferring fluid

A transfer station for transferring a medical fluid between at least one supply container and at least one administration container of an infusion device is described. In an embodiment, the transfer station comprises at least one supply port configured for fluidic connection of the at least one supply container to the transfer station, and at least one exit port configured for fluidic connection of the at least one administration container to the transfer station. A transfer mechanism for automatically transferring a predetermined amount of medical fluid from the at least one supply container to the at least one administration container, and an electronic processing unit connected to an actuation means are provided with the transfer station. A processing unit controls the transfer mechanism and fluid transfer conditions according to a predetermined transfer demand entered by the actuation means.

A drug delivery device comprises first and second liquid drug reservoirs and first and second outlet ports. A drive is configured for expelling a first liquid drug from the first reservoir to the first outlet port and for expelling a second liquid drug from the second reservoir to the second outlet port. A memory is provided that contains a drug dosing scheme specifying a desired liquid drug type, and at least one sensor is provided that detects information concerning the type of liquid drug contained in the first and/or second reservoir. A processor receives the information from the at least one sensor and thereby determines the type of liquid drug retained in the first reservoir and/or the second reservoir, and uses the drug dosing scheme and the determined type of liquid drug to operate the drive. Associated devices this disclosure and methods are also disclosed.

System and Method for Robotic Pharmacy-Filled, Wirelessly Enabled Pillbox with Configurable Weekly and Monthly Modes

A smart pill organizer device for use in a networked computer system to wirelessly monitor a patient's adherence to medication doses, sends alerts when missed, and order refills as needed. The device is a container comprising: a tray of removable dose units tagged with a unique identifier assigned to a patient. The tag may comprise a scannable barcode, and the scanner may be part of the device, or kit. The device further comprises computer components and wireless transmitters, and one or more electromagnetic sensors, e.g. positioned beneath the dose units, to detect when a dose is taken, and transmit the information to a remote server comprising a patient database record. When a dose is missed, an alert is sent to one or more third party electronic computing devices (e.g. patient's, doctor's, pharmacy, caregiver's, etc.). The dose units are filled automatedly with a patient's prescription by a pharmaceutical robotic system.

Method, system and apparatus for guiding and tracking medication usage

Methods and systems are provided for tracking and guiding a patient's clinically directed medication usage. Medicaments are placed in secure passive packaging that must be unlocked to enable dispensing of a dose or a set of doses. This packaging is designed to be difficult to open manually, and instead is designed to dispense only when used in combination with an unlocking device. The unlocking device is a separate device containing electronics, mechatronics or both, to unlock and dispense from the packaging and to track and guide usage. Together, the secure container and the unlocking device track medication usage, deter an excessive rate of patient usage, and deter unauthorized access to medication.

An intradermal fluid delivery device that uses a processor controlled electromechanical delivery mechanism is provided. An air pump pushes fluid containing medication or saline from a fluid compartment through a microneedle array into a person's skin. The processor repeatedly turns the air pump on or off, for the fluid to gradually be injected into the person's skin. The processor may be configured to control the total fluid delivery time as well as the granularity of the fluid delivery. The total fluid delivery time may be set to T, and the time period T may be divided into smaller periods t.sub.1 to t.sub.n, where the fluid may be administered in a period t1, the fluid delivery may then be stopped for a period t2, followed by another fluid delivery period, etc. The periods t1 to tn may be the same or of different lengths.

An intravenous (IV) fluid delivery system include an IV bag and a fluid delivery device. The IV bag is made of many fluidic channels that keep the fluid distributed across the bag such that the bag may be easily and comfortably wrapped around the arm and shoulder of a person. The fluid delivery device includes a processor controlled electromechanical delivery mechanism that controls a positive displacement pump. The pump moves the fluid into a tube and a needle that is connected to a person's vein. The processor repeatedly turns the pump on or off to gradually transfer the fluid from the IV bag into the person's vein. The processor controls the granularity of the fluid delivery, where the fluid may be administered in a fluid delivery period, the fluid delivery may then be stopped in a subsequent fluid stoppage period, followed by other fluid delivery periods.
