Free radical sterilization system and method
A free radical sterilization system having a chamber defining a region, and a generator for generating free radical reach effluent from a free radical electric generator and/or a vaporizer. A closed loop circulating system without a free-radical destroyer is provided for supplying the mixture of free radicals from the electric generator mixed with the hydrogen peroxide solution in the form of the effluent to the chamber. The free-radical sterilization system is used in sterilizing items in the chamber and, with an open-bottomed wound chamber, in treating wounds on a body.

Wearable device for detecting microorganisms, sterilizing pathogens, and environmental monitoring
A wearable device consists of a smart band and a display unit. The smart band comprises a microbial biosensor, a particulate matter sensor, an enviro sensor, a single board computer, a power supply unit, a band fastener, and a set of watch adapters. The microbial biosensor detects, measures, and monitors beneficial microorganisms and pathogens in a nasal cavity, an oral cavity, or on a surface. The microbial biosensor sterilizer kills pathogens. The particulate matter sensor detects, measures, and monitors a set of suspended particles in the surrounding air comprising beneficial microorganisms, pathogens, pollen grains, dust mite allergens, and an air quality index. The enviro sensor detects, monitors, and measures environmental conditions surrounding the user. A computing system comprises a wearable device, a microbiome mobile application, a user, a mobile device, a laboratory testing facility, a cloud server, and a physician.
METHOD OF STERILIZATION OF BIOLOGICS
Methods of sterilizing biologics or biological components are disclosed wherein the biologic or biological component in solution or suspension form are formed using an annealing step during freeze drying so that a porous solid matrix which allows penetration of a sterilizing gas such as EtO to pass through. The annealing process decreases the particle size of lyophilized material as compared to other methods and provides a more uniform cake that is easy to reconstitute. In addition, the resulting lyophilized material made with the annealing step allows better penetration of the sterilizing gas for more effective and uniform sterilization of the material.
Electrode array for a dielectrically impeded plasma treatment
The invention relates to an electrode array for a dielectrically impeded plasma treatment of a surface of a body, comprising at least one flexible flat electrode (1) and one dielectric (2) consisting of a flat flexible first material which protects the electrode (1) from the surface to be treated, with a layer (3) impeding a direct current flow. The dielectric (2) can lie on the surface to be treated, above a structure (4) with projections (7), air spaces (5) being formed between the projections (7) for the creation of the plasma, which have a side open towards the surface to be treated, and a bottom-side closure as a result of the layer (3) impeding the direct current flow. The structure (4) comprises a plurality of spacer elements (6) consisting of a second material that has less flexibility than the first material, and the projections (7) of the structure (4) are partially or completely formed by the spacer elements (6).
APPARATUS HAVING A PROTECTIVE ENVELOPE, USE THEREOF, AND METHOD FOR OPERATING A ROOM REGION
The invention is an apparatus having a protective envelope which is designed and constructed to envelope at least one room region, such that the protective envelope is able to separate the at least one room region from an environment immediately surrounding the protective envelope, and use thereof. Methods for operating a production engineering unit under cleanroom conditions and for creating and operating a virus-free and cross-contamination free room region surrounded by a protective envelope for accommodating persons and/or objects subject to quarantine. The invention has a protective envelope with at least two layers separated by a spacer layer, that is flow-permeable.
Fiber Optic Disinfection Device
A system for disinfecting a medical device is disclosed that includes an elongate instrument comprising a plurality of optical fibers extending along a length of the instrument to a disinfection zone, and a light source coupled with the instrument configured to propagate light distally along the optical fibers. The elongate instrument can be configured to redirect the light radially outward from the instrument. An elongate instrument for disinfecting a medical device can include a plurality of optical fibers extending along a length of the instrument from a proximal end to a disinfection zone at a distal end, the optical fibers configured to propagate a light along the instrument. One or more reflective surfaces can be located within the disinfection zone, and the reflective surfaces can be configured to direct the light radially outward from the instrument.
PERSONNEL TRACKING AND DISINFECTING SYSTEM AND METHOD
A personnel tracking and disinfecting system is applied to a place and includes recognition devices, at least one disinfecting device, storage and central controller. The central controller is configured to: control the recognition devices to recognize the person in the place; determine the position of the person in the place by cooperating with the recognition devices; activate the disinfecting device in the main area to disinfect the person in the main area, generate a disinfecting record based on recognition result generated by the recognition device in the main area, and store the disinfecting record in the storage; and determine whether the person in the extended area has the disinfecting record based on recognition result generated by the recognition device in the extended area.
Apparatus, method, and system for selectively effecting and/or killing bacteria
Certain exemplary embodiments can provide an apparatus and method for generating at least one radiation. The exemplary apparatus and/or method can selectively kill and/or affect at least one bacteria. For example, a radiation source first arrangement can be provided which is configured to generate at least one radiation having one or more wavelengths provided in a range of about 190 nanometers (nm) to about 230 nm, and at least one second arrangement can be provided which is configured to prevent the at least one radiation from having any wavelength that is outside of the range.
