FORCED-CONVECTION, STEAM-HEATING OF NUTS WITH PREHEATING
Method for pasteurizing almonds and other nuts with steam at atmospheric pressure. The amount of condensation on and the consequent water uptake of nuts is limited by pasteurizing the nuts in a heating chamber with a gaseous atmosphere including a steam mixture and forming a forced-convection path through the nuts. The limited water uptake maintains the quality of the nuts. A forced-convection steam cooker conveying food products on a foraminous conveyor belt forces the steam mixture through the nuts. A preheater preheats the nuts so that they can be pasteurized in the steam cooker at a temperature of between 85 C. and 99 C. to reduce the dwell time and increase throughput.
Method of preserving a food product
A food product is within an aqueous solution. The solution includes: at least one edible acid; and at least one osmotic agent, wherein after the solution reaches equilibrium with the food product, the pH of the solution is between about 1 and 5.
EEFIT-BASED ELECTROMAGNETIC WAVE ENERGY CONDUCTING EQUIPMENT
The utility model discloses an EEFIT-based electromagnetic wave energy conducting equipment, having an enclosure, a skeleton, main emission sources, conveying devices and a PLC. The skeleton is arranged in the enclosure, the main emission sources are arranged on the skeleton, the conveying devices are arranged beside the main emission sources, and the conveying devices are electrically connected with the PLC. Each conveying device has a conveyor belt and limit rods. Two limit rods are arranged on each conveyor belt. The limit rods are respectively driven by two independent stepping motors. The EEFIT-based electromagnetic wave energy conducting equipment has the advantages of wider application range, more functions and lower cost, can be applicable to the irradiation of common or fragile materials, and can handle the materials on the same equipment according to different references. The manufacturing and maintenance costs are lower, and the failure rate is smaller as well.
Conditioning system for nutritional substances
Disclosed herein is a conditioning system for nutritional substances. The conditioning system obtains information regarding the nutritional substance to be conditioned, the desired conditioning, and the desired properties, including nutritional content, of the conditioned nutritional substance, and dynamically controls the conditioning in response to this information optimize the organoleptic properties of the conditioned nutritional substance, while minimizing any detrimental changes to the nutritional content.
Anti-oxidation bulk product dispensing system
An anti-oxidation bulk product dispensing system for oxidation-sensitive bulk product includes a gravity-feed bin, an oxygen displacement substance, a supply source, and a control valve. A reservoir of the gravity feed bin is filled through an inlet with oxidation-sensitive bulk product. The product is stored in the reservoir and selectively dispensed through an outlet of the bin. The bin inadvertently receives oxygenated ambient air while receiving and dispensing the product. The supply source is configured to selectively provide the oxygen displacement substance to the bin. The control valve is in communication with the supply source and the bin and is configured to selectively deliver the oxygen displacement substance to the bin. The oxygen displacement substance displaces the oxygenated ambient air in the bin, thereby lessening oxidation of the stored product.
TREATMENT OF AGRICULTURAL, FOOD AND RELATED PRODUCTS FOR ELIMINATING CONTAMINANTS AND ENCHANCING SHELF-LIFE
The subject matter described herein relates to systems for treatment of a product for decontamination of the product. The product may include agricultural, food and related product. The system comprises a decontamination chamber (102, 102-1) having an inlet (120, 120-2) to receive the product; multiple first channels (143, 202, 302, 402, 602, 702) in the decontamination chamber (102), wherein the multiple first channels (143, 202, 302, 402, 602, 702) are distributed across the longitudinal span of the decontamination chamber (102, 102-1); a trioxygen generator (106) with a feedline (128) coupled to the multiple first channels (143, 202, 302, 402, 602, 702), wherein the trioxygen generator (106) is to provide trioxygen gas to the multiple first channels (143, 202, 302, 402, 602, 702) to disseminate trioxygen gas onto the product in the decontamination chamber (102, 102-1); and an outlet (145, 145-2) to output the trioxygen treated product.
DEVICE FOR THE INSPECTION AND FOR THE SELECTION OF FOOD PRODUCTS CONTAMINATED BY AFLATOXINS
The present invention relates to an apparatus (100) for the inspection and selection of food products contaminated by aflatoxins, in particular dried fruit, comprising a conveyor line (90), a first inspection station (20) with at least one ultraviolet light source (23a, 23b) and an RGB video camera (24) mounted in a housing (21), a first control unit, configured to analyse the images of the video camera to identify products with photoemissions compatible with that of aflatoxins, and a first selection unit (30), placed downstream of the first inspection unit (20), where said selection unit (30) is controlled by the first control unit and is configured to separate the uncontaminated food products from those potentially contaminated and to eject the former toward a collection point.
Methods for the control of arthropods using near-ideal gas phase hydrogen peroxide
The present disclosure relates to methods and devices for controlling arthropods, including insects and arachnids in an environment. The methods generally comprise: generating a near-ideal gas Purified Hydrogen Peroxide Gas (PHPG) that is substantially non-hydrated (e.g., in the form of water in solution or water in solution or water molecules bonded by covalence, van der Waals forces, or London forces) and substantially free of, e.g., ozone, plasma species, and/or organic species; and directing the gas comprising primarily PHPG into the environment such that the PHPG acts to control arachnids in the environment. In certain aspects, the arachnids may be totally or partially killed.
Method for determining a freshness state of a food in a storage container as well as computer program product and storage container
A method based on sensor information of a MOX sensor. Sensor information captured at different operating temperatures in different freshness state determination cycles determines a freshness state of a food. Additional information relating to a food is determined. A storage container, a computer program product, and a household cooling appliance for carrying out the method.
Filtration System
A filtration system is arranged to safely vent a storage room into which a fog mixture is introduced. Venting the storage room reduces and/or prevents a substantial increase in the internal pressure of the storage room. To control the pressure differential between the storage room and the ambient air pressure, a venting manifold with an in-line duct fan is used, for example, to exhaust storage room air into the atmosphere. The exhausted storage room air is filtered to reduce the exfiltration of chemicals and/or other contaminants from the environmentally sealed storage room.
