SKATE OR OTHER FOOTWEAR
A skate (e.g., an ice skate) for a skater (e.g., a hockey player). The skate comprises a skate boot for receiving a foot of the skater and a skating device (e.g., a blade and 5 a blade holder) disposed beneath the skate boot to engage a skating surface (e.g., ice). At least part of the skate boot and optionally at least part of one or more other components (e.g., the skating device) may be constructed from one or more materials (e.g., foams) molded by flowing in molding equipment during a molding process (e.g., injection molding or casting). This may allow the skate (or other 0 footwear) to have useful performance characteristics (e.g., reduced weight, proper fit and comfort, etc.) while being more cost-effectively manufactured. Other articles of footwear are also provided.
String lasting
A method of lasting an upper for an article of footwear can include inserting a last in a collapsed state into an upper. The last can include at least two parts movable relative to each other so as to allow the last to be collapsed along a substantially longitudinal direction from an extended state to the collapsed state. The last can also include at least one fastener configured for attaching string and configured to hold string in the collapsed state and in the extended state of the last. The method can further include attaching the upper to the fastener using at least one string and extending the last. For example, the act of extending the last may increase tension in the string in a manner that draws the upper about the last.
METHOD FOR FORMING A FOOTWEAR MIDSOLE
Methods and systems are provided for forming an article of footwear. In one example, forming the article of footwear includes using a perforated last during molding of a midsole of the article of footwear. The midsole may be attached to a seam of the upper of the article footwear to secure the midsole to the upper.
Protective patient footwear system and methods
This disclosure relates to a computer-implemented system and related methods for the design, evaluation, and/or manufacture of protective patient footwear, such as shoes, braces, boots, casts, corrective footwear, and orthoses. The system includes suitable hardware, software, and related peripherals, which function to acquire data related to the patient's particular footwear needs, such as by image capture, including three-dimensional scanning. The system may also acquire data through other sources of input, such as through one or more sensors for detecting various physiologic parameters associated with the lower extremity, or through input of medical conditions, prior indicators, exam, analysis, lab results, or the like, such as through medical practitioner input or other input protocols. The various inputs may be suitably processed to generate output in the form of a design accommodation to design or modify the protective patient footwear, or in the form of one or more medical evaluations or recommendations.
METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR MANUFACTURING A SHOE
Described are methods, systems, and devices for at least partly manufacturing a piece of apparel (e.g., a shoe), which incorporate manipulating at least one component of the piece of apparel with a particle jamming device.
Shoe tree
A shoe tree includes a body having a toe member that has a distal tip end and a proximal end. The toe member is insertable into a toe portion of a respective shoe and formed to support the toe portion of the shoe. The shoe tree also includes a heel member that is insertable into a heel portion of the respective shoe and formed to support the heel portion thereof. The body is hollow inside and presents a neck portion of tubular member to receive and store fluids like liquids to add weight to the shoe tree to spread the weight of the shoe tree to the respective shoe to keep the shoe in shape at all times.
UPPER FOR AN ARTICLE OF FOOTWEAR WITH AT LEAST ONE STRAND FOR LASTING
The present disclosure provides a knitted component, the knitted component with a knit element that forms at least a portion of an upper for an article of footwear and defines an interior void for receiving a foot. A lower perimeter edge of the knit element may extend between a lateral side and a medial side of the upper. At least one strand of the knitted component may extend through the lower perimeter edge on opposite sides of the knitted component so as to extend between the lateral side and the medial side of the upper. The knitted component may be formed on a knitting machine, and the at least one strand may be configured to be tensioned to tighten the upper around a last.
UPPER FOR AN ARTICLE OF FOOTWEAR WITH AT LEAST ONE STRAND FOR LASTING
The present disclosure provides a knitted component, the knitted component with a knit element that forms at least a portion of an upper for an article of footwear and defines an interior void for receiving a foot. Digital last
A method and corresponding apparatus is disclosed for generating a digital last for the manufacture of a shoe for a person. The method comprises obtaining a predefined digital last, the predefined digital last comprising an axis relating to the shape of the last; obtaining data of a foot of the person; and modifying the obtained predefined digital last based on the obtained data, wherein modifying comprises at least one of translation and rotation of the axis.
