Portable body-washing apparatus
11690769 · 2023-07-04 ·

A portable body-washing apparatus is a self-supported, self-contained hygiene aid directed towards use in care-homes, hospitals, or other facilities typically tasked with assisted bathing of disabled persons. A mobile chassis supports an adjustable armature, a base chair segment, and at least one articulated chair segment to support a subject's body during washing. An onboard pump assembly and connected power supply feeds fluids from at least one fluid source through a plurality of conduits via a fluid selection source, enabling operators to select from various output modes, e.g., water, heated air, body wash, shampoo, et cetera. The plurality of conduits is connected to a plurality of outlet heads distributed across the base chair segment and at least one articulated chair segment to enable a full-body wash without requiring a caregiver to physically maneuver the patient.

Patient Turning Device
20220401278 · 2022-12-22 ·

The present invention relates to a patient rolling or turning device for healthcare assistants, such as caregivers and nurses. The device allows a singular healthcare assistant to smoothly and slowly laterally turn or rotate a bedridden patient. The device includes a foam-based frame having a flat base and three curved legs extending vertically from the flat base. The frame comprises two leg supports for receiving and supporting the patient's legs, and a plurality of handles that can be grasped by a nurse or caregiver to rotate the patient.

BED DEVICE SYSTEM AND METHODS

Bed Pad Device
20230059878 · 2023-02-23 ·

A bed pad device is disclosed, wherein the device is comprised of a generally rectangular body with at least one strap on either side of the body that may contain a hook or loop surface. An invalid user may be placed on top of the device, wherein the strap on the left side of the body is designed to meet the corresponding strap on the right side of the body, when the device is folded over itself, thereby forming a hollow cylindrical shape. The hook and loop surfaces of the straps may then be pressed together, forming a bond which holds the device together and secures the user in a desired position. Further, the straps can be wrapped around the railing of a bed, such that the position of the invalid user can be secured.

Patient support having buckling elements for supporting a patient

This disclosure provides a patient support for supporting a patient. The patient support comprises a lattice of cells each having a base, a top disposed opposite the base, and one or more buckling elements having a thickness and extending from the base to the top to form a column.

A SWAY BED
20230031881 · 2023-02-02 ·

A sway bed has a fixed base and a swaying frame defining a bed surface movably attached thereto by a plurality of sway linkages. An oscillating drive operably interfaces the fixed base and the swaying frame. The oscillating drive comprises a geared motor turning a distal end of a crank slidably retained within a channel substantially orthogonal with respect to the bed surface.

METHOD AND DEVICE FOR TURNING AND POSITIONING A PATIENT USING FILLABLE CHAMBERS

A system for repositioning or supporting a patient includes a first sheet, the first sheet configured to receive a patient on a top side, and a second sheet coupled to the first sheet, wherein the second sheet comprises at least one tubular pocket therein, and wherein the second sheet is configured to contact a support surface. The system further includes at least one support device configured to be inserted within the at least one tubular pocket, such that when the at least one support device is inserted within the at least one tubular pocket, at least a portion of the patient is elevated relative to the support surface.

PATIENT POSITIONING

A proning device includes a conformable structure that adapts to the shape of a subject, surrounded by a shell that imparts a substantially elliptical cross-sectional shape to an exterior of the device to facilitate rotation of the subject within the device when the device is wrapped around the subject. A low-friction interface may also be provided to further facilitate rotation of the subject. The device advantageously reduces staffing needs for proning a subject while facilitating extended proning and periodic re-orientation of the subject. Also disclosed herein are methods for making and using such a proning device.
