An applicator for applying cutting fluid is mounted in a CNC machine for pre-programmed, computer controlled use as a tool.

Tool system and method for turning

A tool system for machining includes a tool body that has a first end for connecting to a machine tool and a second end having an end face on which a seat for an interchangeable cutting insert is formed. The cutting insert has an underside formed as an abutment surface, a top side formed as a rake face, and an encircling side face formed as a flank, and a cutting edge is formed at a transition from the top side to the encircling side face. The cutting insert is arranged on the seat such that the top side extends perpendicularly to the longitudinal axis of the tool body and the cutting edge protrudes beyond the outer circumference of the end face of the tool body in a radial direction with respect to the longitudinal axis with two usable cutting corners and cutting-corner portions adjoining the latter on both sides.

A machining apparatus includes: a support mechanism that supports a workpiece; a cutting mechanism that cuts the workpiece that has been supported by the support mechanism; and a heat treatment mechanism that performs heat treatment on the workpiece that has been supported by the support mechanism. The heat treatment mechanism includes a coil that performs induction heating on the workpiece. The coil and the workpiece that has been supported by the support mechanism are movable relative to each other.

Multiple uses of lathes exist where a cutting or scraping tool is initially employed to remove material generating particulates with a range of sizes from shavings and chippings to fine dust. Subsequently, sanding to smooth the surface of all or parts of the piece to the desired smoothness generates particulates with a size range dependent upon the abrasive used but are typically small in dimension and commonly referred to as dust. Without any control of this removed material it creates a mess and a health hazard particularly for the lathe operator and others in the vicinity from aspiration of the dust. Accordingly, it would be beneficial to provide lathe operators, enterprises employing lathe operators, etc. with a system that provides for removal of the chippings, shavings, and dust whilst allowing the user to employ the shaping tools and abrasives to achieve the desired result.

Provided is a cutting fluid tank for a machine tool, with which the operator's time and effort for cleaning are reduced and the maintainability is enhanced, without entailing an increase in size. In a tank body, a cutting fluid flow channel having a spiral shape and extending from a tank center region to a tank outer peripheral region is formed by a flow channel forming plate. An inflow port into which a cutting fluid from inside a machining chamber flows is provided at an outer peripheral region of the lid, whereas an outflow port to take out the cutting fluid in the tank body to an outside is provided at a center region of the lid. A pump to pump up and supply the cutting fluid to the machining chamber is provided at the outflow port.

A lathe capable of shortening a spindle with respect to a spindle axis direction. A spindle provided with a chuck at the front end thereof is rotatably supported on a support by bearings. A chuck operating apparatus includes a tilt claw and a shifter. A built-in motor is disposed between the bearings to rotate the spindle. The claw is provide outside the spindle and between the bearings. The claw has a movable end whose distance from the spindle axis varies between a first posture to bring the chuck into the opened state and a second posture to bring the chuck into the closed state. The shifter is provided outside the claw and movable in the spindle axis direction to be brought in a first position to bring the claw into the first posture and in a second position to bring the claw into the second posture.
