Brake system for rail cars, brake control device for rail car, and brake control method for rail cars
Provided are a brake system, a brake device, and a method of controlling brakes for railroad cars in which control can be multiplexed with a simple configuration. In a brake system 1 for railroad cars includes brake control devices 11, 12, 13 provided in railroad cars 101, 102 103 respectively that form a unit 104. Each brake control device 10 (11, 12, 13) is capable of outputting information of the corresponding car (101, 102, 103) to the other brake control devices 10 through a transmission device 20. The brake control device 10 can calculate a total necessary braking force value BRA required for braking all of the cars 101, 102 103 using the information output from the other brake control devices 10 to the transmission device 20.
BRAKING AND SIGNALING SCHEMES FOR AUTONOMOUS VEHICLE SYSTEM
A method of decelerating a plurality of vehicles along a roadway may include, at a first vehicle, receiving, from an adjacent downstream vehicle, a first braking initiation signal and a first deceleration value indicating a deceleration rate of the adjacent downstream vehicle, determining a first distance to the adjacent downstream vehicle, and determining, based at least in part on the first distance, a second deceleration value configured to prevent the first vehicle from colliding with the adjacent downstream vehicle. The method may further include in accordance with a determination that the second deceleration value is greater than or equal to an upper deceleration value, decelerating at the upper deceleration value, and, in accordance with a determination that the second deceleration value is less than the upper deceleration value and greater than a lower deceleration target, decelerating at the second deceleration value.
Supplemental braking control system in autonomous vehicles
Described are devices, systems and methods for managing a supplemental brake control system in autonomous vehicles. In some aspects, a supplemental brake management system includes brake control hardware and software that operates with a sensing mechanism for determining the brake operational status and a control mechanism for activating the supplemental brake control in an autonomous vehicle, which can be implemented in addition to the vehicle's primary brake control system.
Motor vehicle control unit for an electric parking brake
The invention relates to a motor vehicle control unit. The control unit comprises a first processor system, which is designed to control an actuator of an electric parking brake and at least one additional motor vehicle function unit. A second processor system of the control unit is designed to control the at least one actuator in an at least partially redundant manner to the first processor system. Furthermore, there is a changeover device, which is designed to enable an activation of the at least one actuator either via the first processor system or the second processor system.
Method of automatically controlling an autonomous vehicle based on electronic messages from roadside infrastructure or other vehicles
A method of operating a vehicle, such as an autonomous vehicle, includes the steps of receiving a message from roadside infrastructure via an electronic receiver and providing, by a computer system in communication with said electronic receiver, instructions based on the message to automatically implement countermeasure behavior by a vehicle system. Additionally or alternatively, the method may include the steps of receiving a message from another vehicle via an electronic receiver and providing, by a computer system in communication with said electronic receiver, instructions based on the message to automatically implement countermeasure behavior by a vehicle system.
