Preventing electrical breakdown
A propulsor (101) for an aircraft is shown. The propulsor comprises a propulsive fan (106), and an electric machine (108) configured to drive the propulsive fan. The electric machine has a casing containing electrical and electromechanical components, a shaft which extends outside of the casing and which is connected to the propulsive fan, and a seal to seal the casing around the shaft. A depressurisation system depressurises the casing below an external pressure to prevent electrical breakdown within gas in the casing of the electric machine.
Rotorcraft equipped with an aerodynamic device having a fairing provided with an air intake
A rotorcraft having an aerodynamic device arranged below a rotor, which rotor participates at least in providing lift for the rotorcraft in the air, the rotor being mounted to rotate about a first axis of rotation, the aerodynamic device having a fairing provided with at least one air inlet for enabling a stream of cool air to flow from a region that is situated outside the rotorcraft to another region that is situated inside the rotorcraft; at least at a mouth of the at least one air inlet in the fairing, the aerodynamic device has at least one moving flap that is mounted to move in rotation, the at least one moving flap having at least one degree of freedom of movement in rotation about a second axis of rotation relative to the fairing, and the at least one moving flap orienting itself automatically and passively.
Electrical machine monitor
An example method includes receiving, by one or more processors and via a sensor, a signal representing operational characteristics of a device included in an aircraft; determining, by the one or more processors and based on the signal, a partial discharge intensity value; receiving, by the one or more processors and via an environmental sensor, at least one environmental measurement of the device; modifying, by the one or more processors and based on the at least one environmental measurement, the partial discharge intensity value to determine a modified partial discharge intensity value; and responsive to determining that the modified partial discharge intensity value satisfies a threshold, outputting an alert signal for the device.
Electrical architecture for an aircraft, aircraft comprising the architecture and method for operating the architecture
An architecture for an aircraft comprises two air-conditioning systems, two converters, each intended to supply one of the air-conditioning systems, and at least one first electric machine which starts up a first main engine of the aircraft. The electrical architecture is configured such that the two converters can together supply the first electric machine. A method of operating the architecture is also provided.
MOTOR CONTROL DEVICE
A motor control device includes: a step-down device including a DC-output power conversion device having a first mode for outputting first voltage and a second mode for outputting second voltage lower than the first voltage; a power supply device; and a control device, and controls a motor. When a flying object takes off, the control device controls the power conversion device in the first mode. When the control device judges that flight information which is one or both of information of a motor parameter obtained along with control for the motor and information of an environmental factor relevant to the flight altitude of satisfies a predetermined condition, or when the control device has received an mode signal for which the second mode is selected on the basis of the flight information during control for the motor, the control device controls the power conversion device in the second mode.
METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR COOLING ELECTRONICS IN AN UNMANNED AERIAL VEHICLE
The present disclosure provides an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) having a housing containing electronic components required of the UAV and a heat transfer device for cooling heat generated by said electronic components; at least one boom for connecting said housing to at least one propeller. The boom includes one or more inlet located on a first surface of the boom and within an airflow of said at least one propeller; at least one outlet on a second surface of the boom; a hallow channel extending in interior of the boom from said at least one inlet to said at least one outlet, wherein said airflow generated by said at least one propeller passes into said at least one inlet through the hollow channel to said at least one outlet providing cooling for said heat transfer device.

Sound-absorbing panel and manufacturing method for same
A sound-absorbing panel to be used affixed to a jet engine of an aircraft, provided with: a resin core layer having a first surface, a second surface disposed on the side opposite from the first surface, and multiple partitions extending between the first surface and second surface so as to partition multiple cells; a resin first skin layer laminated on the first surface of the core layer; and a resin second skin layer laminated on the second surface of the core layer. The first skin layer is disposed so as to face the external space while in use, and has multiple through-holes for providing communication between internal spaces of the multiple cells and external space faced by the first skin layer. The core layer has openings for providing communication between the internal spaces of the multiple cells and external space of the core layer.
Torque measurement system
A system for torque measurement is generally provided. The system includes a sensor disposed between an outer bearing race and a static structure of a bearing assembly. The sensor is disposed adjacent along a thrust load direction to the outer bearing race. The system further includes a rotor assembly rotatably coupled to the bearing assembly, and a controller communicatively coupled to the sensor. The controller is configured to store and execute operations. The operations include determining a torque measurement from the rotor assembly based at least on an axial thrust load from the rotor assembly.
