Intermediate temperature metallization pastes containing vanadium are disclosed. The metallization pastes can be used to fabricate electrodes interconnected to a transparent conductor.

Laminated glazing

A laminated glazing comprising a first ply of glazing material and a second ply of glazing material joined by at least one ply of adhesive interlayer material is disclosed. The first ply of glazing material comprises a sheet of glass having a first composition and the second ply of glazing material comprises a sheet of glass having a second composition different to the first composition. The laminated glazing has (i) a peripheral region extending around the periphery of the laminated glazing, the laminated glazing having a surface compression stress in the peripheral region and (ii) an edge compression, wherein the magnitude of edge compression is greater than the magnitude of the surface compression stress in the peripheral region. A method of making such a laminated is provided. A glass sheet suitable for being incorporated in such a laminated glazing is also disclosed.

Laminated glazing

A laminated glazing comprising a first ply of glazing material and a second ply of glazing material joined by at least one ply of adhesive interlayer material is disclosed. The first ply of glazing material comprises a sheet of glass having a first composition and the second ply of glazing material comprises a sheet of glass having a second composition different to the first composition. A method of making such a laminated is provided. A glass sheet suitable for being incorporated in such a laminated glazing is also disclosed.

Window units made using ceramic frit that dissolves physical vapor deposition (PVD) deposited coatings, and/or associated methods

Certain example embodiments relate to the use of a ceramic frit that dissolves an already-applied thin film coating (disposed via a physical vapor deposition (PVD) process such as sputtering, or other suitable process). In certain example embodiments, the ceramic frit is aggressive in chemically removing the coating on which it is disposed, e.g., when exposed to high temperatures. The frit advantageously fuses well with the glass, provides aesthetically desired colorations, and/or enables components (e.g., insulated glass (IG) unit spacers) to be reliably mounted thereon, in certain example embodiments. Associated coated articles, IG units, methods, etc., are also contemplated herein.

Modified black spinel pigments for glass and ceramic enamel applications

Modified copper chromite spinel pigments exhibit lower coefficients of thermal expansion than unmodified structures. Three methods exist to modify the pigments: (1) the incorporation of secondary modifiers into the pigment core composition, (2) control of the pigment firing profile, including both the temperature and the soak time, and (3) control of the pigment core composition.

Conductive composition, method for producing conductor, and method for forming wire of electronic component

A conductive composition has excellent adhesiveness to a substrate and conductivity. For example, a conductive composition contains copper powder, cuprous oxide, a lead-free glass frit, and a carboxylic acid-based additive. The cuprous oxide is contained in an amount of at least 5.5 parts by mass and up to 25 parts by mass relative to 100 parts by mass of the copper powder. The lead-free glass frit contains a borosilicate zinc-based glass frit and a vanadium zinc-based glass frit. The borosilicate zinc-based glass frit contains boron oxide, silicon oxide, zinc oxide, and optional other components, among which boron oxide, silicon oxide, and zinc oxide serve as top-three oxide components in terms of content. The vanadium zinc-based glass frit contains vanadium oxide, zinc oxide, and optional other components, among which vanadium oxide and zinc oxide serve as top-two oxide components in terms of content.

High-tension busbar silver paste applied to N-type solar cell and preparation method therefor

A high-tension busbar silver paste applied to the N-type solar cell is prepared by mixing a silver powder (a mixture of a spherical silver powder A having a median particle size of 700-900 nm and a tapped density of 5-6 g/mL and a spherical silver powder B having a medium particle size of 280-450 nm and a tapped density of 4-5 g/mL), an organic vehicle (a mixture of 3-5 wt % of polyvinyl butyral resin and 5-10 wt % of acrylic resin as a main resin) and a glass powder (copper-bismuth-manganese-tellurium series glass powder having a medium particle size of 0.7-1 μm and a softening temperature of 600-800° C.); the silver paste has large welding tension, in which the welding tension of the front busbar line is 4 N or more.

SYRINGE WITH PECVD LUBRICATION

A syringe or other vessel having a substrate surface coated by PECVD is provided. The PECVD coating is made by generating plasma from a gaseous reactant comprising an organosilicon precursor and optionally O.sub.2. The lubricity, hydrophobicity and/or barrier properties of the coating are set by setting the ratio of the O.sub.2 to the organosilicon precursor in the gaseous reactant, and/or by setting the electric power used for generating the plasma. In particular, a lubricity coating made by said method is provided. Vessels coated by said method and the use of such vessels protecting a compound or composition contained or received in said coated vessel against mechanical and/or chemical effects of the surface of the uncoated vessel material are also provided.

The lubricity, hydrophobicity and/or barrier properties of the coating are set by setting the ratio of the O.sub.2 to the organosilicon precursor in the gaseous reactant, and/or by setting the electric power used for generating the plasma. In particular, a lubricity coating made by said method is provided. Vessels coated by said method and the use of such vessels protecting a compound or composition contained or received in said coated vessel against mechanical and/or chemical effects of the surface of the uncoated vessel material are also provided.
