System and method for cleaning wine and/or a barrel containing wine
There is disclosed a system and method for processing wine and/or a containing barrel, while keeping a volume of most of the wine in the barrel. The disclosed system and method can provide reduced mixing of different layers of wine in the barrel. An optional scrubbing mechanism cleans an interior surface of the barrel from encrusted matter, and an optional UV sterilization light source sanitizes an interior surface of the barrel that is alongside a cavity in the barrel empty of wine. In some embodiments a pumping and filtering system preserves non-mixing flow of wine in the barrel while effectively filtering wine optionally without the use of a filter cartridge or other interposing medium.

A method and system for monitoring wine in a barrel having a bung hole is provided. The system comprises a sensor enclosure, a sensor conduit, and an original bung. The sensor conduit is operably coupled to the sensor enclosure. The original bung comprises a passage hole for inserting the sensor conduit through the original bung. The original bung also comprises a space for inserting at least a portion of the sensor enclosure. This space does not extend through the original bung. The outer diameter of the original bung is determined by the diameter of the bung hole of the barrel.

MONITORING SYSTEM FOR WINEMAKING
Aspects of a monitoring method and system for winemaking are provided. The system comprises at least two sensors, a controller, a wireless transmitter and a wireless receiver. One sensor measures a wine parameter, while the other sensor measures an ambient condition. The controller is able to generate an alarm based on the wine parameter and the ambient condition. The wireless transmitter is able to communicate the wine parameter and the ambient condition to a remote database. The wireless receiver is able to receive a modification to the firmware.
Wine inventory management system and methods
A wine inventory management system is provided to assist a user in selecting and locating a wine from a wine collection. In one example, a wine inventory management system may comprise a smart cap having an indicator portion and a processor in communication with the smart cap. The processor in communication with the smart cap may comprise a determining module that determines a set of criteria, a matching module that matches wines to the set of criteria to form a wine set, and an illuminating module that illuminates smart caps of the wine set. The smart caps may be illuminated with different colors, light animation patterns, and with different images in some examples.
