TRAFFIC SIGN COVER
20170287368 · 2017-10-05 ·

A traffic sign cover including a planar member having a first and second side and shaped to be place on a side of an existing sign. Holding members project from the sides of the planar member and optionally along a portion of the outer edges. The holding member and first side form a first slot therebetween for receiving and retaining the existing sign. The second holding member and second side form a second slot therebetween for receiving and retaining a temporary sign. The planar member is slideable upon the existing sign until a top receiving feature contacts a top edge of the existing sign, overlaying a side of the existing sign with the planar member. The temporary sign is slideable upon the planar member until a bottom edge contacts a bottom receiving feature of the planar member, overlaying and covering a side of the planar member with a temporary sign.

Positionable warning sign device

A positionable warning sign device provides a portable unit which facilitates identification of a traffic hazard. The device includes a primary member, a first arm, and a second arm. The first and second arms are coupled to the primary member and pivotally positionable to form an end of an arrow. Light emitters are coupled to respective front walls of the primary member, the first arm and the second arm. Arcuate projections extend from the primary member defining a receiver. A projection extends upwardly from a top end of a tripod. An upper portion of the projection is insertable into the receiver whereby the primary member is coupled to the tripod and supported on the lip. A power supply is operationally coupled to the plurality of light emitters.

A highway road sign is described that is capable of opening and folding to display or conceal information presented on a face of the road sign. The foldable sign of the invention is further capable of being opened and closed remotely and powered with solar energy. Additionally the foldable sign is operable when subjected to cross winds.

Parking indicator comprising indicator retracting mechanism

Embodiments of this disclosure are directed to a parking indicator comprising a vehicle contact body, a pivoting contact body support, an elongated visibility indicator, an indicator actuating mechanism, and an indicator retracting mechanism. The pivoting contact body support is attached to the vehicle contact body and is configured to permit the vehicle contact body to pivot to a horizontally-oriented position when the vehicle contact body is grounded via the pivoting contact body support and is contacted by a vehicle entering a parking space occupied by the parking indicator. The elongated visibility indicator is mechanically coupled to the vehicle contact body via the indicator actuating mechanism such that the indicator actuating mechanism upholds the elongated visibility indicator in an extended position. The indicator retracting mechanism is configured to retract the elongated visibility indicator to a retracted position when the vehicle contact body pivots from the vertically-oriented position to the horizontally-oriented position.

Content output systems using vehicle-based data

Electronic display systems, including roadside display devices, vehicle-based devices, personal mobile devices, intermediary servers, advertising servers and/or networks, and/or additional external data sources may operate individually or in combination to identify one or more vehicle locations, driving routes, driver and passenger characteristics, driving behavior and patterns, telematics data, and the like. Vehicle and individual characteristics and/or telematics data may be determined based on data received from traffic cameras, vehicle-based devices, personal mobile devices, telematics devices, and/or other data sources, including software applications. Based on the vehicle characteristics, individual characteristics, driving data and driving patterns, telematics data, and the like, content, such as digital display content or audio content, may be determined for output on various devices, such as electronic roadside displays to be viewable by the approaching vehicles, and/or other devices to be accessible by associated individuals via the other devices. Various techniques may be used to determine customized content. Additionally, certain systems may be interactive to allow user responses and follow-up content via on-board vehicle devices or other user devices.

Gate for controlling oncoming traffic on a roadway

A gate for controlling oncoming traffic on a roadway (e.g. a highway). The gate comprises an arm movable between an extended position in which the arm extends into a given portion of the roadway to inform the oncoming traffic that the given portion of the roadway is closed and a retracted position in which the arm does not extend into the given portion of the roadway and thus leaves open the given portion of the roadway for the oncoming traffic. The gate also comprises a control system comprising an actuator and configured to support the arm and move the arm between the extended position and the retracted position. The arm may be quite long and vertically wide to close more of the roadway and be clearly visible to the oncoming traffic, while the gate may be crash-tested (i.e., compliant with crash-testing criteria), the control system may be compact, and the gate may be reusable and easily repairable if crashed into.
