Support element and a method for supporting an elongated beam, and a rotary platform

A rotary milking platform (1) comprises a platform (3) having a circular carrier beam (7) secured to the underside of the platform (3). The carrier beam (7) is supported on a plurality of support elements (10), each of which comprise a freely rotatable roller (35) which is configured to rollably engage an under surface (38) of the carrier beam (7). Each support element (10) comprises an anchor plate (27) adjustably mounted on a corresponding ground engaging element (20) which is secured to the ground. A carrier plate (40) is carried on four guide bolts (50) extending upwardly from the anchor plate (27). Side members (41) extending downwardly from the carrier plate (40) rotatably carry the roller (35). Compression springs (59) acting between abutment washers (55) secured to the guide bolts (50) and the carrier plate (40) urge the carrier plate (40) against heads (53) of the guide bolts (50). The compression springs (59) accommodate downward and upward movement of the roller (35) in order to accommodate rising and falling of the under surface (38) of the beam (7). The compression springs (59) permit tilting movement of the roller (35) about a tilt axis (61) which extends in the direction of motion of the beam (7) in order to facilitate tilting of the roller (35) to follow any non-horizontality of the under surface (38) of the beam (7). The tilt axis is located just below a line of contact (67) of the roller (35) with the under surface (38) of the beam (7) to minimise lateral movement of the roller relative to the beam (7) as the roller (35) tilts about the tilt axis.

Break-away coupling for highway or roadside appurtenances with enhanced fatigue properties

A break-away coupling is formed of metal and has a central axis and a necked-down central region formed by two inverted truncated cones each having larger and smaller bases. The cones are joined at the smaller bases by a narrowed transition region having an exterior surface formed by a curved surface of revolution having an inflection point of minimum diameter substantially midway of the coupling along the axis. The cones each define an angle θ.sub.1 and θ.sub.2, respectively, at each of the larger bases, wherein both θ.sub.1 and θ.sub.2 are selected to be within the range of 20°-40° and, preferably within the range of 30°-37°.

Tripod with a sealed leg lock

A locking mechanism for a tripod.

Modular pole-mounting system for supporting telecommunication devices

A system for mounting a telecommunication device to a pole comprises a pole-mount kit and a first bracket. The pole-mount kit has first and second clamps for engaging opposite sides of the pole. The pole-mount kit has threaded fasteners extending through openings in the first and second clamps such that a first one of the threaded fasteners is on one side of the pole, and a second one of the threaded fasteners is on the other side of the pole. The threaded fasteners retain the first and second clamps in a fixed engagement on the pole. The first clamp has at least one bore extending through the first clamp in a direction that is transverse to the openings. The first bracket is fixed to the first clamp via a first clamp fastener that extends through the bore. The first bracket is used for mounting the telecommunication device.

VERTICALLY STABILIZED PLATFORM

Embodiments of the inventive subject matter are directed to vertically stabilized platforms. These platforms have a top portion that moves only along a single axis (e.g., vertically up and down), and a bottom portion that remains stationary relative to a reference frame. The top portion is coupled with the bottom portion by scissor linkages that are all configured to slide on one end to allow the top portion to move up and down without any perturbations or movements along any other axes. Stabilization in some embodiments is accomplished by incorporating struts that couple with both the bottom portion (either directly or indirectly) and two of the scissor linkages. Struts can include both a damper and a spring and can be selected based on anticipated load to be stabilized. Embodiments can be mounted on, e.g., truck beds, ships, or other surfaces that can move, giving rise to a need for a stabilized platform.

Gear fine-tuning pan-tilt

A gear fine-tuning pan-tilt includes a rotating base, a roll worm support seat, a roll adjusting assembly, a pitch adjusting assembly, and a bearing seat arranged in sequence from bottom to top; the pitch adjusting assembly of the complete gear structure is located on the above, and the roll adjusting assembly located below adopts an arc-shaped rack structure, which reduces the interference to the pitching movement of the upper assembly and makes the height of the pan-tilt smaller. The arc opening of the arc-shaped rack faces upwards, so that the rotation axis is closer to the center axis of the lens. The upper and lower combination of the two structures strengthens the swing ability of the top of the pan-tilt in the limited size. The structure is able to be aimed at the subject through the rotating base, and leveled the left and right, and determined the pitch angle.

Stand for supporting a computing device

A stand for supporting a computing device is provided. The stand may support the computing device at a height such that a screen of the computing device is capable of being at or near eye-level of a user. The stand may include a frame member and a gripping mechanism attached to an end of the frame member. The gripping mechanism may secure the computing device to the stand.

Display stand and mounting method thereof

The present invention discloses a display stand has a mounting seat connected on a support structure, internally provided with an accommodating cavity and having a slot communicated with the accommodating cavity at the top in an open way, a supporting arm having an insertion end capable of being inserted into the accommodating cavity of the mounting seat from the slot of the mounting seat, and a locking mechanism disposed on the mounting seat or supporting arm, for locking or unlocking the insertion end of the supporting arm in the accommodating cavity. When the insertion end of the supporting arm is locked, the supporting arm is limited within the accommodating cavity of the mounting seat, and when the insertion end of the supporting arm is unlocked, the insertion end of the supporting arm may be taken out from the slot of the mounting seat.
