A dual fuel heating source can have a burner and a nozzle. The heating source can be configured to use one of two different fuels flowing at different pressures. The nozzle can have a body, the body defining an outlet opening, an inlet, and an inner chamber. The nozzle can be configured for the first fuel in a first position of said nozzle, and can be configured for a second fuel in a second position.

A wall-fired burner includes a fuel tip defining a fuel direction axis and a fuel tip pivot axis perpendicular thereto. A first air tip is adjacent to the fuel tip. The first air tip defines a first air direction axis and a first air tip pivot axis perpendicular thereto. A second air tip is adjacent to the fuel tip, opposite from the first air tip across the fuel tip. The second air tip defines a second air direction axis and a second air tip pivot axis perpendicular thereto. A mechanism operatively connects the fuel tip, the first air tip and the second air tip for at least one of independent and/or joint movement of the fuel tip, the first air tip and the second air tip.

BURNER

A burner 100 comprising a burner body 110 having a burner chamber with a backing plate 122 and having a burner element received in the burner chamber, the burner element having a plurality of gas nozzles 117 for supplying gas into the burner, the gas nozzles 117 each ending in a tip through which the gas exits and gas nozzle 117, and each gas nozzle being rotatable such that the direction of gas exiting the gas nozzle can be adjusted. The burner has means for rotating the gas nozzles 117 provided on the backing plate and by releasable means for retaining each gas nozzle 117 in a plurality of rotational configurations provided outside the burner chamber. The gas nozzles 117 further comprise first and second parts which are detachable from each other, the first part comprising the tip and the second part being upstream of the first part with respect to the flow of gas into the gas nozzles in use. The burner allows for tuning of gas flow from outside the burner while it is in use.

In various embodiments, a fuel injector may comprise a fuel nozzle and a pilot stage. The fuel nozzle may define a main fuel channel, a secondary fuel channel, a simplex fuel channel and a heat shield area. The main fuel channel may be disposed about at least a portion of the simplex fuel channel. The secondary fuel channel may be disposed about at least a portion of the simplex fuel channel. The heat shield area may be configured to separate and protect the fuel channels from a heat load to prevent fuel coking. The pilot stage may be operatively coupled to the fuel nozzle and may be configured to receive fuel from the secondary fuel channel or the simplex fuel channel. The main stage may be operatively coupled to the fuel nozzle. The main stage may be configured to receive fuel from the main fuel channel.

FLEXIBLE FUEL COMBUSTION SYSTEM FOR TURBINE ENGINES

A fuel burner system (10) configured to inject a liquid fuel and a gas fuel into a combustor (12) of a turbine engine (14) such that the engine (14) may operate on the combustion of both fuel sources (20, 24) is disclosed. The fuel burner system (10) may be formed from a nozzle cap (16) including one or more first fuel injection ports (18) in fluid communication with a first fuel source (20) of syngas and one or more second fuel injection ports (22) in fluid communication with a second fuel source (24) of natural gas. The fuel burner system (10) may also include an oil lance (26) with one or more oil injection passages (28) that is in fluid communication with at least one oil source (30) and is configured to emit oil into the combustor (12). The oil lance (26) may include one or more fluid injection passages (32) configured to emit air to break up the oil spray and water to cool the combustor (12), or both.

FLEXIBLE FUEL COMBUSTION SYSTEM FOR TURBINE ENGINES

A fuel burner system (10) configured to inject a liquid fuel and a gas fuel into a combustor (12) of a turbine engine (14) such that the engine (14) may operate on the combustion of both fuel sources (20, 24) is disclosed. The fuel burner system (10) may be formed from a nozzle cap (16) including one or more first fuel injection ports (18) in fluid communication with a first fuel source (20) of syngas and one or more second fuel injection ports (22) in fluid communication with a second fuel source (24) of natural gas. Systems and methods are disclosed that may include providing a wellhead gas burner to burn wellhead gas produced from a wellhead to heat water and/or other chemicals used in hydrocarbon production and/or well completion processes, including, but not limited to hydraulic fracturing (fracking). The wellhead gas burner may include a pressure regulator and an expansion chamber that permit the wellhead gas burner to continuously operate and accommodate wellhead gas pressure fluctuations. The wellhead gas burner may also be configured as a primary heat source and integrated with a traditional propane/diesel gas burner system configured as a supplemental heat source. The wellhead gas burner may also be mounted to a mobile superheater truck.
