Pistols have a frame, a firing facility operable to discharge the pistol, a safety device connected to the frame and having a safe condition in which discharge is disabled and an operable condition in which discharge is enabled, an actuator responsive to the presence of a safety-indicating element and operative to control the condition of the safety device such that the safety device is in the safe condition when the safety-indicating element is absent and in the operable condition when the safety-indicating element is present, a selector connected to the frame and operably connected to the safety device, and the selector being movable between an enabled position in which the safety device is operably responsive to the presence and absence of the safety-indicating element, and a disabled position in which the safety device remains in the operable condition irrespective of the presence and absence of the safety-indicating element.

Trigger groups for striker-fired firearms have a frame defining a medial plane, a slide connected to the frame and operable to reciprocate between a forward battery position and a rearward recoil position, a barrel connected to the slide and having a forward muzzle end, a trigger assembly connected to the frame and movable between a forward trigger position and a rearward trigger position, a firing pin assembly connected to the slide and operable to reciprocate between a rearward retracted position and a forward extended position, the firing pin assembly including a forward-facing retention surface, the trigger assembly including a sear surface configured to selectively engage the retention surface to releasably restrain the firing pin assembly, a selector movable between a first selector position and a second selector position, and a connector operably engaged to the trigger assembly and to the selector.

Trigger groups for striker-fired firearms have a frame defining a medial plane, a slide connected to the frame and operable to reciprocate between a forward battery position and a rearward recoil position, a barrel connected to the slide and having a forward muzzle end, a trigger assembly connected to the frame and movable between a forward trigger position and a rearward trigger position, a firing pin assembly connected to the slide and operable to reciprocate between a rearward retracted position and a forward extended position, the firing pin assembly including a forward-facing retention surface, the trigger assembly including a sear surface configured to selectively engage the retention surface to releasably restrain the firing pin assembly, a selector movable between a first selector position and a second selector position, and a connector operably engaged to the trigger assembly and to the selector.

A firearm slide accessory includes a charging handle attachment that includes a base member and a pulling member that extends from the base member. The pulling member includes a pair of side members that extend from the base member and which join to form a cross member parallel to the base member. The side members and the cross member define an opening through which sights of a firearm are viewable.

A pistol conversion kit may be constructed and arranged for converting a pistol to a bull-pup format rifle by attaching an elongated barrel to the pistol. The pistol conversion kit may include a two-part chassis defining a compartment into which the pistol and elongated barrel may be seated behind a handle and trigger guard integrated within the chassis such that the pistol is located behind the pistol conversion kit trigger thereby positioning the pistol in a bull-pup configuration within the chassis. The pistol conversion kit may include a number of sub-assemblies for operating the pistol seated within the chassis and may further include a barrel safety system arranged for preventing use of the pistol conversion kit trigger unless a properly sized elongation barrel is attached to the pistol.

A pistol conversion kit may be constructed and arranged for converting a pistol to a bull-pup format rifle by attaching an elongated barrel to the pistol. Some embodiments include an optic guard for a firearm, the optic guard including: a frame; and a bracket having a side to attach to a firearm assembly, the bracket integrally formed with the frame or fixably attached to the frame; wherein the frame is arranged to cover part of a front of an optic housing when the side of the bracket is attached to the firearm assembly. A handgun is disclosed. The handgun contains a frame composed of polymer material, the frame contains a channel formed therein, wherein the channel contains sides, and a forward rail positioned within the channel.

A firearm or firearm retrofit assembly may include a compensation assembly to receive gas expelled from a muzzle of a barrel or an egress in a length of the barrel. The compensation assembly may include one or more gas flow-directing sections to tune the flow of gas through the compensation assembly, which may reduce recoil. The present disclosure provides systems and techniques for an attachment that can be fastened to a gun. The attachment may include a top surface having a longitudinal axis and an aiming sight that is parallel with the longitudinal axis, a front surface having a latitudinal axis that is perpendicular to the longitudinal axis, the front surface including a muzzle aperture, a left surface, a right surface, and a fastening system. The fastening system may include a first mounting aperture of the left surface, a second mounting aperture of the right surface, and a locking pin capable of being positioned in the first mounting aperture and in the second mounting aperture such that the locking pin fastens the attachment to the gun. The attachment may be fastened to the gun such that the longitudinal axis is parallel with a longitudinal bore axis of the gun.
