Enzyme compositions and uses thereof
The present invention relates to enzyme compositions and processes of producing and using the compositions for the saccharification of lignocellulosic material.
Host cell capable of producing enzymes useful for degradation of lignocellulosic material
The invention relates to a host cell comprising at least four different heterologous polynucleotides chose from the group of polynucleotides encoding cellulases, hemicellulases and pectinases, wherein the host cell is capable of producing the at least four different enzymes chosen from the group of cellulases, hemicellulases and pectinases, wherein the host cell is a filam-tous fungus and is capable of secretion of the at least four different enzymes. This host cell can suitably be used for the production of an enzyme composition that can be use in a process for the saccharification of cellulosic material.
Biomass with bioengineered yeast, associated organic compounds, and related methods
Provided are various genetically engineered strains of TEKK microorganisms, e.g., yeast in a container of industrial-scale volume containing biomass, wherein the microorganisms are capable of fermenting C5 material to produce desirable organic compounds. Also provided are methods for efficiently producing industrial-scale volumes of the desirable organic compounds, e.g., lactic acid, by TEKK strains of microorganisms such as TEKK-LAC and variants thereof.
Polypeptides having cellobiohydrolase activity and polynucleotides encoding same
The present invention relates to cellobiohydrolase variants and carbohydrate binding module variants. The present invention also relates to polynucleotides encoding the variants; nucleic acid constructs, vectors, and host cells comprising the polynucleotides; and methods of using the variants.
Variants of exoglucanases having improved activity and uses thereof
The present invention relates to the expression and optimization of enzymes involved in the breakdown of lignocellulosic biomass. Disclosed are variants of the exoglucanase 1 of Trichoderma reesei, as well as the use of said variants with improved efficiency in methods for breaking down cellulose and for producing biofuel.
Method of producing xylo-oligosaccharide
A method produces xylo-oligosaccharides from a biomass containing xylan and cellulose, which method is convenient and has a high yield of xylo-oligosaccharides because of inhibition of degradation of xylo-oligosaccharides into xylose. In the method of producing xylo-oligosaccharides, a biomass containing xylan and cellulose is hydrolyzed with a cellulase composition having at least activities of xylanase, cellobiohydrolase and β-glucosidase and substantially free of β-xylosidase activity during hydrolysis.
Ancestral cellulases and uses thereof
The invention relates to a polypeptide comprising an exoglucanase catalytic domain comprising a sequence selected from the group consisting of SEQ ID NO: 1, SEQ ID NO: 2 and SEQ ID NO: 3, and to a polypeptide having beta-glucosidase activity comprising a sequence selected from the group consisting of SEQ ID NO: 6, SEQ ID NO: 7 and SEQ ID NO: 8, and to functionally equivalent variants thereof that maintain or improve their catalytic activity. Additionally, the invention relates to an enzyme cocktail comprising said polypeptide(s) and an endoglucanase. Further, the invention also relates to methods for hydrolysing cellulose to cellobiose and/or cellotetraose, cellobiose and/or cellotetraose to glucose and cellulose to glucose, and to produce bioethanol, using the polypeptides or enzyme cocktails of the invention, and to the uses of the polypeptides and enzyme cocktails of the invention for hydrolysing cellulose to cellobiose and/or cellotetraose, cellobiose and/or cellotetraose to glucose and cellulose to glucose, and to produce bioethanol.
CELLULOLYTIC ENZYME COMPOSITIONS AND USES THEREOF
