A coffee extraction apparatus includes: a grinder grinding whole beans into coffee powder having a preset size or less and discharging the coffee powder, a grinder inlet defined at a first side of the grinder to introduce the whole beans to the grinder, a grinder outlet defined at a second side of the grinder and discharging the coffee powder, and a first extractor. The first extractor includes: a receiver inlet that faces the grinder and that receives the discharged coffee powder, a filter part receiving the coffee powder through the receiver inlet and extracting coffee liquid by rotating the coffee powder with water of a first temperature, the first temperature being equal to or lower than 25 degrees Celsius, and a receiver that receives the water of the first temperature and that is configured to store the water of the first temperature or the extracted coffee liquid.

A beverage brewer includes a pump assembly, a flow channel, and a brewing material holder assembly. The pump assembly has an inlet port and is operable to provide negative fluid pressure at the inlet port. The flow channel is arranged for fluid communication with the intake port of the pump assembly. The brewing material holder assembly is configured to hold ground brewing material and is arranged to receive and provide fluid through the flow channel. The pump assembly is configured to draw liquid through the flow channel into the brewing material holder assembly when actuated, thereby brewing a beverage in the brewing material holder assembly when the brewing material holder assembly holds ground brewing material. The flow 10 channel is arranged to receive the liquid from the brewing material holder assembly when the pump assembly is de-actuated.

A beverage brewer includes a container configured to hold liquid and having an open top, and a brewing material holder configured to be suspended into the container and to hold beverage brewing material in contact with liquid held in the container. The brewer also includes a pressure assembly operable to provide pressurized liquid flow through the brewing material holder within the container, and/or a heating element configured to be arranged at least partially in an interior of the container and operable to heat liquid held in the container.

A beverage brewer includes a container configured to hold liquid and having an open top, and a brewing material holder configured to be suspended into the container and to hold beverage brewing material in contact with liquid held in the container. An invention as provided is a method of preparing a beverage or beverage extract comprising steps of: a. providing an extraction chamber comprising an extractable beverage material, a liquid inlet and a liquid outlet, and b. conveying a liquid into the chamber via the inlet and at least a portion of the liquid out of the chamber via the outlet, and c. conveying at least a portion of the liquid that has exited the chamber from step b) back into the chamber via the outlet and conveying at least a portion of the liquid out of the chamber via the inlet, wherein steps b) and c) are repeated at least twice, and wherein at least a portion of the liquid conveyed into the chamber in at least one subsequent step b), in addition to the first step b), is conveyed into the chamber for the first time.

An invention as provided is a method of preparing a beverage or beverage extract comprising steps of: a. providing an extraction chamber comprising an extractable beverage material, a liquid inlet and a liquid outlet, and b. conveying a liquid into the chamber via the inlet and at least a portion of the liquid out of the chamber via the outlet, and c. conveying at least a portion of the liquid that has exited the chamber from step b) back into the chamber via the outlet and conveying at least a portion of the liquid out of the chamber via the inlet, wherein steps b) and c) are repeated at least twice, and wherein at least a portion of the liquid conveyed into the chamber in at least one subsequent step b), in addition to the first step b), is conveyed into the chamber for the first time.

The pump is configured to draw liquid from the interior of the container through the intake channel and to issue the liquid to the brewing material holder through the outflow channel, thereby brewing a beverage. The brewing material holder is configured to issue the brewed beverage into the interior of the container.
