A filter cup is revealed. The filter cup includes an outer cup, an inner cup mounted in the outer cup and a grip. The inner cup consists of a filter bottom surface on the bottom thereof, a plug-like member on the filter bottom surface, and at least two flanges on top of the inner cup. A discharge hole is disposed on bottom of the outer cup and sealed by the plug-like member. Two rotating members are pivotally connected to the outer cup and each includes a leaning portion projecting therefrom. The grip is connected to the rotating members. The rotating members are driven to move for pushing the flanges and moving the inner cup vertically by the leaning portions thereof when the grip is pulled. Thus a gap is formed between the plug-like member and the discharge hole, allowing liquid in the inner to flow out therethrough.

The valves may be additionally configured to provide a second flow path that enables easy removal of the plunger from the container.

The pre-infusion valve is set in such a way as to operate in pulsed mode for a pre-infusion time of at least 4 seconds, with opening and closing time equal to or lower than 1 second.

A method of preparing a tea beverage in a capsule-based brewing device is provided, the device comprising an infusion chamber (10); a capsule holder (20) sized and shaped so as to receive a capsule (30); a filter (25); an openable and closable passage (29) which terminates in an orifice (40); a vessel (60) located beneath the orifice (40) and having a spout (63); the method comprising the steps of: introducing liquid and infusible beverage material from the capsule (30) into the infusion chamber (10) so as to brew the beverage; and then after brewing has taken place for a sufficient time, opening the passage (29) to allow the beverage to flow from the infusion chamber (10) through the filter (25), along the passage (29), through the orifice (40), into the vessel (60) and out from the spout (63).

Systems for and methods of controlling liquid food or beverage product creation are disclosed. A dispenser for producing a food or beverage liquid product from a frozen contents in a receptacle includes a chamber configured to hold the receptacle and a non-diluting heater configured to heat the receptacle and/or the frozen contents within the receptacle; the non-diluting heater does not add liquid to an interior of the receptacle. The dispenser also includes a reservoir configured to contain a liquid. The reservoir includes a reservoir outlet configured to withdraw liquid from the reservoir. The beverage dispenser further includes a product outlet configured to withdraw a food or beverage liquid product from the receptacle and a controller that causes the dispenser to selectively perform at least one of: heating at least one of the receptacle and the frozen contents using the non-diluting heater and withdrawing liquid from the reservoir through the reservoir outlet.
