TIMER-ACTUATED VALVE ASSEMBLIES FOR BEVERAGE BREWERS AND RELATED METHODS
20180153338 · 2018-06-07 ·

Brewing assemblies and related brewing methods involving timer-actuated release of a fluid, such as heated water, during a brewing process for brewing and/or for release of the brewed beverage itself. In some embodiments, the brewing assembly may comprise a valve assembly operated by a timer such that a fluid is delivered in desired, preferably intermittent, doses. In some embodiments, the valve assembly may be modular and may allow for substitution of certain components, such as a rotating dial, to select certain recipes and/or preferred brewing characteristics.

Brewer

A brewer, system and method for heating water and dispensing heated water for producing a brewed beverage The brewer includes a water reservoir with a heating element associated with the reservoir for heating water retained in the reservoir A brewing substance holder is associated with the reservoir for receiving heated water from the reservoir A temperature sensitive control valve is provided in communication with the reservoir for controllably dispensing heated water from the reservoir to the brewing substance holder The temperature sensitive control valve may be in the form of a passive control valve which uses a bimetallic, magnetic or other material which is responsive to heat The water is placed in the reservoir and heated The elevated temperature of the water will result in operating the heat sensitive control valve to open the control valve and allow water to pass from the reservoir to the brewing substance holder.

BREWER WITH TEMPERATURE RESPONSIVE CONTROL VALVE

A beverage maker including a reservoir, an intermediate chamber, a beverage substance retaining container, a heating element associated with the reservoir and a temperature responsive valve assembly between the reservoir and intermediate chamber for controlling the flow of heated water from the reservoir. The beverage maker includes a sensor device coupled to the reservoir, spaced from the heating element, to detect a condition such as a temperature change, temperature, temperature range, or presence of absence of water within the reservoir to cease power to the heating element upon detecting the condition. The intermediate chamber is sized and dimensioned to accommodate a predetermined range of volumes of water flowing from the reservoir through the intermediate chamber. A spray head is provided on the intermediate chamber communicating with the volume of water retained therein to distribute the water over beverage making substance retained in the beverage substance retaining container.

Provided is a beverage percolation device that can efficiently supply hot water and water vapor and that does not require a user to perform troublesome work. An exemplary device provides a warm water storage tank (1) that holds water; an electric heater (10) that heats the water in the warm water storage tank (1); a hot water guide tube (4) that heats the water in the warm water storage tank (1) to a first temperature and guides that hot water to a coffee powder (C); a steam guide tube (3) that heats the water in the warm water storage tank (1) to a second temperature higher than the first temperature and guides that steam to the coffee powder (C); and a control unit (20) that controls the supply of the hot water and the steam to the coffee powder (C).

DRIP COFFEE MAKER WITH FLOW RATE CONTROLLED BREW BASKET
20250221564 · 2025-07-10 ·

A drip coffee maker includes a controller that regulates a water/coffee contact time for coffee produced in a brew basket by controlling an electronically-controllable dispense valve disposed downstream of the brew basket in response to an output of a dispense rate sensor that senses dispense rate from a brew basket. In addition, in some instances the dispense rate sensor may be implemented as a weight sensor that senses the weight of the brew basket, and may additionally be used to sense the amount of coffee grounds dispensed into the brew basket by a grinder.
