A centrifugal device for brewing coffee includes a spinning assembly, the spinning assembly includes a piston element, a cylinder element including a peripheral wall, a filter, a motor and a spindle connected to the motor. The piston element includes a nut. During centrifugal rotation, the piston element is in a coffee brewing position, and during the centrifugal rotation the piston element is rotated by the spindle via the action on the nut and is pressed against the upper rim, where a centrifugal force is created which forms a bed of coffee against the peripheral wall and which drives hot water through the bed of coffee and through the filter. A stopping device includes an engagement member and an actuator, the engagement member being movable by the actuator between an engaged position engaging the piston element of the spinning assembly and a disengaged position.

A centrifugal device for brewing coffee includes a spinning assembly, the spinning assembly includes a piston element, a cylinder element including a peripheral wall, a filter, a motor and a spindle connected to the motor. The piston element includes a nut. During centrifugal rotation, the piston element is in a coffee brewing position, and during the centrifugal rotation the piston element is rotated by the spindle via the action on the nut and is pressed against the upper rim, where a centrifugal force is created which forms a bed of coffee against the peripheral wall and which drives hot water through the bed of coffee and through the filter. A stopping device includes an engagement member and an actuator, the engagement member being movable by the actuator between an engaged position engaging the piston element of the spinning assembly and a disengaged position.

A container assembly includes a container, a plunger assembly including a plunger, a lid including a lid lever connected to actuate the plunger of the plunger assembly, and a housing disposed in the container and configured to receive mixing media. The lid and the plunger may define a fluid chamber. The plunger assembly may include a rod connected to the lid and the housing. The rod may include an internal fluid passage providing fluid communication between the housing and an opposite end of the rod. The rod may include at least one aperture disposed proximate the end of the rod. Rotation of the lid lever may cause rotation of the rod and translation of the plunger. Translation of the plunger may cause fluid disposed between the plunger and the housing to flow into the housing via at least one inlet port of the housing.

A container assembly includes a container, a plunger assembly including a plunger, a lid including a lid lever connected to actuate the plunger of the plunger assembly, and a housing disposed in the container and configured to receive mixing media. The lid and the plunger may define a fluid chamber. The plunger assembly may include a rod connected to the lid and the housing. The rod may include an internal fluid passage providing fluid communication between the housing and an opposite end of the rod. The rod may include at least one aperture disposed proximate the end of the rod. Rotation of the lid lever may cause rotation of the rod and translation of the plunger. Translation of the plunger may cause fluid disposed between the plunger and the housing to flow into the housing via at least one inlet port of the housing.

An apparatus is provided for making beverages by immersing an infusible material, such as loose tea-leaves, in a liquid, such as hot water. The apparatus comprises two rigid-frame containers, a liquid-impermeable open-top beverage container, which can be an existing container selected by the user, and a movable liquid-permeable infuser container. According to embodiments of the invention, the infuser container may assume two different stationary positions relative to the beverage container, a lower stationary position and a higher stationary position. In the lower stationary position, the infusible material is covered by liquid and may be infused for a desired length of time. Thereafter the infuser container may be temporarily placed in the higher stationary position, in which position the infusible material is located above the liquid, to reduce or stop the dripping of the infusible material.

An apparatus is provided for making beverages by immersing an infusible material, such as loose tea-leaves, in a liquid, such as hot water. The apparatus comprises two rigid-frame containers, a liquid-impermeable open-top beverage container, which can be an existing container selected by the user, and a movable liquid-permeable infuser container. According to embodiments of the invention, the infuser container may assume two different stationary positions relative to the beverage container, a lower stationary position and a higher stationary position. In the lower stationary position, the infusible material is covered by liquid and may be infused for a desired length of time. Thereafter the infuser container may be temporarily placed in the higher stationary position, in which position the infusible material is located above the liquid, to reduce or stop the dripping of the infusible material.

A full immersion brewing system includes an immersion chamber; an extraction material mechanism for introducing extraction material into the immersion chamber; an infusion mechanism for introducing heated liquid and pressurized air into the immersion chamber; and a drain/dispensing mechanism for dispensing, through a filter, infused liquid from the immersion chamber and for enabling removal of extraction material from the immersion chamber. The filter prevents extraction material from being dispensed from the immersion chamber. When the drain/dispensing mechanism is in a first position, infused liquid is dispensed through the filter, and when the drain/dispensing mechanism is in a second position, the filter is positioned so that extraction material and liquid is dispensed without going through the filter. The full immersion brewing system includes a cleaning mechanism for cleaning the immersion chamber and the filter.

A full immersion brewing system includes an immersion chamber; an extraction material mechanism for introducing extraction material into the immersion chamber; an infusion mechanism for introducing heated liquid and pressurized air into the immersion chamber; and a drain/dispensing mechanism for dispensing, through a filter, infused liquid from the immersion chamber and for enabling removal of extraction material from the immersion chamber. The present disclosure generally relates to devices and methods for brewing beverages. More specifically, aspects of the present disclosure include devices suitable for brewing coffee from coffee beans which have been ground by the device using a wet grinding process, and methods of brewing coffee using such a device.

The present invention relates to a collection receptacle for collecting insoluble material that is used for preparing beverages by means of an infusion device, wherein the infusion device comprises a container with an open end and a closed end for holding the beverage and the insoluble material. A piston-filter arrangement can be inserted into the container via the open end and can be moved toward the closed end. The collection receptacle can be inserted into the container, and has an opening that is enclosed by an edge, and a first coupling element that can be coupled with a second coupling element of the piston-filter arrangement such that, in the coupled state, a distance is formed between the edge of the collection receptacle and the piston-filter arrangement. In addition, the invention relates to an infusion device with such a collection receptacle.
