Beverage brewing apparatus and related method
The present inventive concept consists of a logic controlled submersion brewing device that operates reliably with minimal user interaction. The brewer employs a submersion brewing technique to ensure a uniform extraction of beverage from solid extraction media. The device may be programmable to start on a timer. Parameters of the brew program may be customizable including serving size and extraction settings. The device will use vapor pressure to forcibly move beverage liquid across a sieve thereby separating the liquid from spent extraction media. Reliability and repeatability of the separation procedure is enhanced using a novel method of pressure control.
Apparatus and method for extracting an infusion
An infusion extractor is provided including a plunger to be inserted into an infusing container containing the infusion mixture that has vertical inner walls oriented parallel to a vertical axis of the container. The plunger includes a first surface with a seal situated at an edge of the surface. The seal is adapted for sealing against the inner walls of the infusing container as the plunger moves within the container, to define a first chamber containing the mixture of infusible material and extract. The plunger also includes a second surface extending from the first surface and defining a second chamber; the second surface includes extract flow openings which permit flow of extract from the first chamber into the second chamber. At least a portion of the extract flow openings are situated at a depth either above or below the first surface along the vertical axis.

COFFEE BREWING PRESS WITH DISPLACEABLE AGITATOR
A beverage brewing press has an open topped container for receiving a liquid and particulate matter to be brewed into a beverage, a hollow plunger shaft, a sealing filter piston disposed on the plunger shaft, the sealing filter piston having a peripheral seal slidably sealing to an interior of the container and for separating the interior of the container into a first compartment and a second compartment, the piston having a filter thereon for allowing brewed beverage to be filtered from the first compartment into the second compartment upon displacement of the piston, an agitator disposed below the piston, the agitator being fastened to an agitator shaft disposed concentrically rotatably and slidably in the hollow plunger shaft, a displaceable distance being provided between the agitator and the piston, the agitator shaft being slidable in the plunger shaft to take-up the displaceable distance between the agitator and the piston when the piston moves toward the agitator due to an axial force exerted on the plunger shaft moving the piston in the direction of the agitator. A spring is provided to absorb the displaceable distance and may also transmit rotational force to the agitator.

PORTABLE BEVERAGE PRESS MUG AND METHODS
A portable beverage press mug is includes a vessel and a press head assembly. The press head assembly includes a screen (or filter) and a valve arrangement covering the screen. The valve arrangement is movable in response to fluid pressure to create a gap between the valve arrangement and the frame and permit fluid to pass through the screen and the gap.

BEVERAGE BREWING DEVICE AND METHOD
A beverage brewing device is configured to brew beverages such as coffee and tea. A brewing canister having a filter at a bottom end is held partially within a receiving beaker, and a seal is created between the canister outer surface and the beaker inner surface. Brewing media such as coffee grounds and brewing fluid such as hot water are added to the canister, mixed, and allowed to brew. At a desired time, the receiving beaker is moved relative to the brewing canister so that the brewing canister is partially removed from the receiving beaker. As such, a vacuum is formed between the bottom end of the brewing canister and the receiving beaker. The filter stops brewing media from flowing into the receiving beaker, but the vacuum draws the brewed beverage through the brewing media and filter and into the receiving beaker.

PORTABLE SOLVENT INFUSER ASSEMBLY
A portable solvent infuser assembly for infusing a drinking liquid dispenser quickly couples and uncouples to a drinking liquid dispenser, yet effectively and efficiently permits infusion of a solute housed in the assembly within a solvent within drinking liquid dispenser. The solvent infuser assembly includes a fine infuser body subassembly and a coarse infuser body subassembly arranged axially, and interchangeable and adaptable to variously sized threaded connections. Apertures define the sidewalls of the infuser body subassemblies to permit liquid inside the drinking liquid dispenser to enter and egress the body cavity. A cap subassembly, which is coupled to the infuser body subassemblies detachably attaches to an opening of the drinking liquid dispenser so that the infuser body subassemblies are fully immersed in the cavity of the drinking liquid dispenser. The cap subassembly has a concave curved shape to enable uniform flowage of the liquid through an infused solution intake member.
