A lid system for use with a container having an opening bounded by a rim, with at least one outwardly extending projection extending from the rim, includes a lid and a lid cover member. The lid is sized to seat on the rim of the container and includes an upper surface, at least one section with perforations extending therethrough, and a centrally disposed lid handle. The lid cover member is sized to seat adjacent the upper surface of the lid around the lid handle. The lid cover member is rotatable about the lid handle to substantially close or expose the at least one section with perforations. The lid cover member includes at least one bracket for mating with the at least one outwardly extending projection on the rim of the container to retain the lid on the container during a draining process of the container.

A lid system for use with a container having an opening bounded by a rim, with at least one outwardly extending projection extending from the rim, includes a lid and a lid cover member. The lid is sized to seat on the rim of the container and includes an upper surface, at least one section with perforations extending therethrough, and a centrally disposed lid handle. The lid cover member is sized to seat adjacent the upper surface of the lid around the lid handle. The lid cover member is rotatable about the lid handle to substantially close or expose the at least one section with perforations. The lid cover member includes at least one bracket for mating with the at least one outwardly extending projection on the rim of the container to retain the lid on the container during a draining process of the container.

A cooking appliance includes a base including an upper surface having a cooktop, and a lid separable from the base, and including a heater assembly disposed therein. The cooking appliance further includes a control unit configured to operate at least one of the cooktop in the base or the heater assembly in the lid.

A lid of a food processing system selectively receivable by a container of the food processing system includes a lid body defining a cavity within the lid body, a locking assembly at least partially disposed within the cavity and an actuator associated the said lid body and the locking assembly. The locking assembly is movable from an unlocked position to a locked position in response to application of a first force applied to the actuator. The locking assembly is movable from the locked position to the unlocked position in response to application of a second force applied to said actuator, the first force and said second force being applied in a same direction.

A lid of a food processing system selectively receivable by a container of the food processing system includes a lid body defining a cavity within the lid body, a locking assembly at least partially disposed within the cavity and an actuator associated the said lid body and the locking assembly. The present invention provides a combination pressure cooker and air fryer lid that may be attached to a vessel. The lid may be adjustable between two general cooking positions. In the first cooking position, the lid may operate with the vessel as a pressure cooker. In the second cooking position, the may operate with the vessel as an air fryer. In performing either of the pressure cooking or air fryer cooking functions, the lid need not be replaced.

The first safety mechanism functions to ensure that the container is securely attached to the blade assembly before the blade assembly can be mounted to the base. The second safety mechanism functions to ensure the motor in the base can only be powered on when the container and the blade assembly are securely mounted to the base. The blender is operable by affixing the container to the blade assembly, and then the assembly to the base, such that both safety mechanisms are released to permit the motor to be activated.

A blender for processing comestible matter includes a base with a motor, a blade assembly, and a container. The blender further comprises a first safety mechanism and a second safety mechanism. The first safety mechanism functions to ensure that the container is securely attached to the blade assembly before the blade assembly can be mounted to the base. The second safety mechanism functions to ensure the motor in the base can only be powered on when the container and the blade assembly are securely mounted to the base. The blender is operable by affixing the container to the blade assembly, and then the assembly to the base, such that both safety mechanisms are released to permit the motor to be activated.

A cooking appliance includes a pressure vessel, a lid, a locking mechanism having a locking member, and a resiliently compressible seal member. The cooking appliance is adapted to affect the locking mechanism into an inoperable state at an inner vessel pressure greater than or equal to a predetermined pressure when in a locked position.
