The boxes are configured to close around the food items when the first handle is motivated toward the boxes, such that the food items are confined in the cooking space. The shaft is configured to position the cooking space proximate to an open flame.

A frame with a handle is pivotally attached to the food retainer, The latching mechanism, includes a rod that passes through the handle and frame to activate a latch that keeps the food retainer closed, and when the latching mechanism is activated, the two portions of the griller are separated and the contents become accessible. The rod is spring loaded to return it to a position within the confines of the food retainer when needed. The griller is designed to be carried from location to location with the food retainer vertical when latched, as well as with the food retainer a horizontal disposition also with the retainer latched.

A moisture infusion assembly 50 is arranged above the shelf 34 and thus at a lower portion of the cooking space 40.

A food cooking device includes a robot main body having a tray where food is placeable, a spatula configured to move the food in a given direction while contacting the food, a first robotic arm to which the tray is attached, and a second robotic arm to which the spatula is attached, and a control device configured to control operations of the robot main body. The device moves the tray to a given position, while the food is placed on a placement surface of the tray, and sweeps out the food placed on the placement surface of the tray in a direction outward of the placement surface by the spatula.
