DETERGENT COMPOSITION
A liquid detergent composition, preferably a liquid manual dishwashing detergent composition, comprising one or more hydroperoxy fatty acid producing enzymes selected from the group consisting of: arachidonate lipoxygenases, alpha-dioxygenases, and mixtures thereof, preferably alpha-dioxygenases, a surfactant system and a liquid carrier (i.e., water). Methods of washing comprising the liquid detergent composition are also provided.
DETERGENT COMPOSITION
A surfactant containing detergent composition, preferably a manual dishwashing detergent composition, comprising either a combination of one or more hydroperoxy fatty acid producing enzymes and one or more hydroperoxy fatty acid converting enzymes, or at least one fatty acid processing fusion enzyme comprising at least two catalytic domains: a hydroperoxy fatty acid producing domain and a hydroperoxy fatty acid converting, and methods of using such compositions.
Bacteria engineered for conversion of ethylene to ethanol
The present disclosure provides recombinant bacteria with elevated production of ethanol and/or n-butanol from ethylene. Methods for the production of the recombinant bacteria, as well as for use thereof for production of ethanol and/or n-butanol are also provided.
SYSTEMS, COMPOSITIONS, AND METHODS FOR BIOCATALYZED PRODUCTION OF A GREASE THICKENER
Systems, methods, and compositions for biocatalyzed conversion of oleic acid to non-racemic (R)-10-hydroxystearic acid ((R)-10-HSA) are described herein. Some systems and methods may include mixing oleic acid, a buffer, and a surfactant to produce an emulsion. The emulsion may be mixed with recombinant enzyme produced by a transformed microorganism. The recombinant enzyme may biocatalytically convert oleic acid to (R)-10-HSA, which may be extracted from the emulsion via an organic solvent.
PRODUCTION OF FATTY ACID ESTOLIDES
It has been found that esterification of a hydroxy-fatty acid by a lipase can be coupled with oleate hydratase (OHase) generation of that hydroxy-FA from an unsaturated FA with a cis C9-C10 double bond, e.g. oleic acid, in a single aqueous buffered reaction medium at low temperature,e.g. 30 C. A simple one-pot enzymatic method to produce fatty acid estolides from one or more triglycerides, e.g. starting from a natural plant oil, is thereby enabled in which the same lipase catalyses both the initial hydrolysis of triglyceride and the final esterification step.
MUTANT POLYPEPTIDES AND USES THEREOF
The present disclosure provides novel polypeptides with 3-buten-2-ol dehydratase activity, polypeptides with catalytic activity in the conversion of 3-methyl-3-buten-2-ol to isoprene, and crystal structure data for one of such polypeptides. Methods of making and using the polypeptides and their related crystal structure data are also provided.
BACTERIA ENGINEERED FOR CONVERSION OF ETHYLENE TO N-BUTANOL
The present disclosure provides recombinant bacteria with elevated production of ethanol and/or n-butanol from ethylene. Methods for the production of the recombinant bacteria, as well as for use thereof for production of ethanol and/or n-butanol are also provided.
Method for producing hydroxy-fatty-acid-based polyols
A method for producing a hydroxy fatty acid condensate or a mixture of hydroxy fatty acid condensates is provided. The method involves the steps of providing one or more fatty acids having at least one CC double bond functionality, biotechnologically adding H.sub.2O to at least one CC double bond functionality of the one or more fatty acids and thus obtaining one or more hydroxy fatty acids, and reacting the one or more hydroxy fatty acids with one or more at least divalent linker groups, thus obtaining a hydroxy fatty acid condensate or a mixture of hydroxy fatty acid condensates. Also provided are a hydroxy fatty acid condensate or a mixture of hydroxy fatty acid condensates obtained by the method, as well as polyurethane, obtained by reacting such a hydroxy fatty acid condensate or mixture of hydroxy fatty acid condensates.
