A portable thermal device includes a housing having a thermally conductive container accessible through an opening. Batteries are contained in the housing. A power supply circuit is in electrical communication between an electrical heater and batteries contained in the to power the electrical heater. In one aspect, an electrical heater uses metal oxide semiconductor field effect transistors (MOSFETs) in thermal contact with the thermally conductive container that are driven in a heat generating range by the power supply circuit. In another aspect, a controller: (i) identifies a thermal profile associated for preparing and maintaining a particular food in the thermal conductive container; (ii) associates the thermal profile with stored power in the one or more batteries; and (iii) communicates via a user interface a limitation on performing the thermal profile based on the stored power.

The heating or cooling system has a heating or cooling element to actively heat or cool the chamber, power storage devices, and circuitry that controls the operation of the heating or cooling elements. A sensor can detect a presence of a liquid in the chamber, the circuitry configured to turn on power to the heating or cooling elements after said liquid is detected and further configured to automatically turn off power to the heating or cooling elements upon receiving a signal indicating that the liquid in the chamber has dropped below a predetermined liquid level or been depleted completely.

THERMAL REGULATION AND STABILIZATION VESSEL

A thermal stabilization vessel may include a double walled tube. The tube may have an outer wall, an inner wall, and a sealed off volume located between the inner and outer walls. A removable base may close off a bottom opening of the tube and conduct heat to or from a container placed within the vessel. A top may partially close off a top opening of the tube. The top may include an annulus of elastomeric material. The annulus may have a plurality of resilient tabs extending radially inward toward a central axis of the tube. When a container such as a bottle of wine is placed within a vessel, the tabs of the annulus may resiliently deflect as needed to accommodate the container and then restrict air exchange between an ambient environment and a space located interior to the inner wall of the tube and exterior to the container.

CHILLED BEVERAGE CONTAINER AND CHILLED BEVERAGE DISPENSING SYSTEMS AND METHODS

A drinkware container system includes a container body having an outer wall and an inner wall spaced from the outer wall to define a cavity. The inner wall extends between an opening of the container body and a base wall. The inner wall and base wall define a chamber that receives a liquid, the bottom wall spaced below the base wall. A cold-side heat sink is located in the cavity in thermal contact with the inner wall and/or the base wall. Optionally, a phase change material is located in the cavity and in thermal communication with the chamber and with the cold side heat sink, the phase change material spaced apart from the outer wall. The cavity can optionally be filled with an insulation material or be under vacuum. Optionally, the container body can have magnet(s) that can removably couple it with a cooling unit. The cooling unit can have a first heat sink configured to contact the container body when the container body is placed on the cooling unit, thermoelectric module(s) in thermal communication with the first heat sink, and a second heat sink in thermal communication with the thermoelectric module(s) so that the thermoelectric module(s) are interposed between the first and second heat sinks. The thermoelectric module(s) are operable to draw heat from the first heat sink and transfer it to the second heat sink to cool the first heat sink to thereby draw heat from the container body to cool it.

Portable cooler container with active temperature control

An actively heated or cooled food container can have a lid movable between an open and a closed position and an insulated body to which the lid can be attached. The insulated body can have a sidewall that defines a perimeter of the container body and a base, the sidewall and base defining one or more chambers that can be sealed by the lid. The food container can have a temperature control system that can include one or more heating or cooling elements in thermal communication with one or both of the sidewall and the base and operable to heat or cool one or both of the sidewall and the base to thereby heat or cool the one or more chambers in the food container.
