A unitary insert for holding a utensil to the rim of a pot, includes a main portion having an integral clip on a first side able to be secured to the rim of a cooking pot and a concave receiving portion on a second side of the main portion for receiving a utensil to hold the utensil to the rim of the pot. A magnetic element may be inserted in the main portion adjacent the concave receiving portion to hold the utensil to the rim of the pot.

A cooking assistive device comprises a portable housing configured to be disposed on or proximate a food item. The device includes a plurality of sensors situated within the housing, a dispenser, and a utensil holder. The device has a memory storing computer-readable instructions, and a processor. The processor is configured to execute the instructions to: (a) obtain a wireless input from a mobile device; (b) access data stored in a remote database; (c) obtain a reading from at least one of the plurality of sensors; and (d) cause the dispenser to dispense a substance in response to the reading.

A utensil for opening and extracting food from a container includes an elongated handle having a first end and a second end. The utensil further includes a pliant blade including one or more features for removing contents from a container and the pliant blade is coupled to the first end of the elongated handle. The pliant blade is defined by an edge enclosing an inner portion. A slit extends from the edge of the pliant blade inwardly into a section of the inner portion and a contoured edge is disposed along a portion of the edge of the pliant blade where the contoured edge corresponds to one or more surface features of a sidewall of a container. The utensil further includes a pull-tab opener disposed on the second end of the elongated handle for accessing and separating a pull-tab from the surface of a lid.

A kitchen appliance made of metal which can be aluminum, stainless steel or copper. The diameter is between 3.5-5.5 inches with a height between 2-3 inches. The retainer arrangement comprises a support element having at least two holding partitions arranged substantially orthogonally to each other and configured to protrude from the support element and to be guidable below the top edge of the serving dish, a main surface of the support element arranged substantially parallel to a top surface of the top edge of the serving dish and configured to contact the top surface. The retainer arrangement also comprises a fastening element having at least one locking element configured to contact an inner surface of the wall of the serving dish, the fastening element protruding in relation to the top edge of the serving dish and configured to receive the serving utensil to be set on the retainer arrangement.

A stabilization portion is operationally connected to one of the group consisting of the handle connection portion and the enclosure portion. The stabilization portion is typically magnetic, and the handle connection portion is typically contoured or contourable to engage an appliance handle.
