Production of cannabinoids in yeast
The present disclosure relates to the production of cannabinoids in yeast. In as aspect there is provided a genetically modified yeast comprising: one or more GPP producing genes and optionally, one or more GPP pathway genes; two or more olivetolic acid producing genes; one or more cannabinoid precursor or cannabinoid producing genes; one or more Hexanoyl-CoA producing genes, and at least 5% dry weight of fatty acids or fats.
Acetyl co-enzyme a carboxylase herbicide resistant plants
The present invention provides for compositions and methods for producing crop plants that are resistant to herbicides. In particular, the present invention provides for wheat plants, plant tissues and plant seeds that contain altered acetyl-CoA carboxylase (ACCase) genes and proteins that are resistant to inhibition by herbicides that normally inhibit the activity of the ACCase protein.
Biosynthesis of curcuminoids in mammalian cells
A method of making curcuminoids in a mammalian cell. The method of making a curcuminoid in a mammalian cell includes expressing one or more enzymes in the mammalian cell, the enzymes being selected from the group consisting of tyrosine ammonia lyase (TAL), 4-coumaroyl-CoA ligase (4CL1), curcuminoid synthase (CUS), diketide-CoA synthase (DCS), curcumin synthase (CURS1), 4-coumarate 3-hydroxylase (C3H), caffeoyl-CoA 3-O-methyltransferase (CCoAMT), and acetyl-CoA carboxylase (ACC). The expressing of the one or more enzymes converts a starting material, such as tyrosine or ferulic acid, to the curcuminoid. Also provided herein are therapeutic uses for the curcuminoid made in a mammalian cell.
PYRAZOLE ACC INHIBITORS AND USES THEREOF
The present invention provides pyrazole compounds useful as inhibitors of Acetyl CoA Carboxylase (ACC), compositions thereof, and methods of using the same.
Increasing plant oil content by altering a negative regulator of acetyl-CoA carboxylase
The present invention provides a method and means to change fatty acid and ultimately triacylglycerol production in plants and algae. Methods of the invention comprise the step of altering the activity levels of the committed step for de novo fatty acid biosynthesis, acetyl-CoA carboxylases (ACCase). More specifically, methods of the invention directly enhance the activity of ACCase by down-regulating the biotin/lipoyl attachment domain containing (BADC) genes through biotechnology or selective breeding approaches.
MICROORGANISMS AND METHODS FOR PRODUCING CANNABINOIDS AND CANNABINOID DERIVATIVES
The present disclosure provides genetically modified host cells that produce a cannabinoid, a cannabinoid derivative, a cannabinoid precursor, or a cannabinoid precursor derivative. The present disclosure provides methods of synthesizing a cannabinoid, a cannabinoid derivative, a cannabinoid precursor, or a cannabinoid precursor derivative.
UNDIFFERENTIATED STEM CELL-REMOVING AGENT, AND METHOD FOR REMOVING UNDIFFERENTIATED STEM CELLS
An undifferentiated stem cell-removing agent which contains at least one kind selected from the group consisting of a fatty acid synthesis inhibitor, a fatty acid utilization inhibitor, and a cholesterol synthesis inhibitor; a method for removing undifferentiated stem cells which includes culturing a cell mixture that contains an undifferentiated stem cell and a differentiated cell in the presence of the undifferentiated stem cell-removing agent; and a production method of cells for transplantation which includes the following steps (i) and (ii): a step (i) of inducing a desired differentiated cell from an undifferentiated stem cell, and a step (ii) of culturing the cell mixture obtained in the step (i) in the presence of the undifferentiated stem cell-removing agent are provided.
Defined enzymatic synthesis of lipid A analogs
Provided herein include methods and compositions for synthesis of Lipid IV.sub.A and derivatives thereof, using a defined set of pathway enzyme, which may be isolated and used to reconstitute all or part of the pathway in a cell-free reaction.
Stacked herbicide tolerance event 8264.44.06.1, related transgenic soybean lines, and detection thereof
This invention relates in part to soybean event pDAB8264.44.06.1 and includes a novel expression cassettes and transgenic inserts comprising multiple traits conferring resistance to glyphosate, aryloxyalkanoate, and glufosinate herbicides. This invention also relates in part to methods of controlling resistant weeds, plant breeding and herbicide tolerant plants. In some embodiments, the event sequence can be stacked with other traits, including, for example, other herbicide tolerance gene(s) and/or insect-inhibitory proteins. This invention further relates in part to endpoint TaqMan PCR assays for the detection of Event pDAB8264.44.06.1 in soybeans and related plant material. Some embodiments can perform high throughput zygosity analysis of plant material and other embodiments can be used to uniquely identify the zygosity of and breed soybean lines comprising the event of the subject invention. Kits and conditions useful in conducting these assays are also provided.
