Systems and methods to preheat ferromagnetic scrap
An example embodiment of the present invention provides a system for preheating ferromagnetic scrap. The system can include a preheating unit that is configured to hold ferromagnetic scrap and to receive hot gases. The preheating unit may include a removable cover that can include an electrical magnet system. The electrical magnet system can comprise an electrical magnet, a lifting device configured to lower and raise the electrical magnet, a power system configured to provide electrical power to the electrical magnet, and an electrical control system configured to operate the magnet. A hot gases cleaning system may be fluidly connected to the preheating unit.
METHOD AND EQUIPMENT FOR RECYCLING USED CELLS AND RECHARGEABLE BATTERIES
A method for recycling used cells such as saline cells, alkaline cells, button cells and used rechargeable batteries, includes the step of introducing the cells and/or rechargeable batteries as feedstock into a metal melting furnace, at the charging door thereof. The cells and/or rechargeable batteries are subjected to a compression operation in order to remove the electrolytes contained in the cells and/or rechargeable batteries, prior to introducing the cells and/or rechargeable batteries into the metal melting furnace.
The method can be used for recycling used cells and rechargeable batteries.
MELTING FURNACE FOR METALLURGICAL PLANT AND OPERATING METHOD THEREFOR
A melting furnace for metallurgical plant comprising a vessel provided with a bottom; a tapping duct passing through the bottom; rotation means to rotate the vessel so that the tapping duct passes from a first reference position to a second position inclined with respect to said first reference position, and vice versa; wherein said tapping duct has a first stretch arranged in the thickness of the bottom and completely passing through the bottom, and a second stretch, adjacent to the first stretch, protruding inside the vessel; wherein there is provided a cover of the second stretch shaped as a tube closed at an upper end thereof and open at a lower end thereof; said tube being coaxial and spaced from said second stretch, and being spaced from a zone of the bottom which includes the first stretch of the tapping duct, whereby the cover, in cooperation with the second stretch of the tapping duct, acts as a tapping hood.

A conveyor system (1) for the continuous or discontinuous conveyance of a reactive and/or hot and/or abrasive material to be conveyed along a conveyor path includes a system housing (3) enclosing the conveyor path, which has at least one fluid inlet (5) for the introduction of fluid into the system housing (3), at least one fluid outlet (7, 9) for the discharge of fluid out of the system housing (3), a charging inlet (4) for introducing material to be conveyed into the system housing (3), and, apart from the at least one fluid inlet (5), the at least one fluid outlet (7, 9) and the charging inlet (4), are implemented in a technically fluid-tight manner.

A system and equipment to measure and control the feeding of load material into an electrical arc furnace (EAF) includes an automatic control device feeding the load material; a measuring device positioned between the EAF and the tilting platform that includes an upper plate adapted to slide against the EAF, a lower plate engaged to the tilting platform, and a ring structure therebetween having a peripheral ring wall, a ring plate extending across the ring structure, and a contact member coupled to the ring plate that upperly contacts the upper plate and lowerly approaches, without contacting the lower plate; and one or more sensors measuring a deformation of the ring plate upon application of a load on the upper plate.

The present invention belongs to the technical field of metallurgy, and discloses a horizontal continuous feeding preheating device and an enhanced preheating method therefor. The scheme comprises that two dust removal ports are arranged at the front and rear parts of a horizontal continuous feeding preheating duct, and the horizontal continuous feeding preheating duct is divided into an enhanced preheating area and a flue gas preheating area by the two dust removal ports arranged at the front and rear parts of the horizontal continuous feeding preheating duct; burners are installed in the enhanced preheating area, and the two dust removal ports are connected with a flue gas adjusting distributor respectively by a flue gas pipeline; the negative pressure of a second dust removal port is balanced by the efflux fluid dynamic pressure of a plurality rows of burners in the enhanced preheating area; the micro-negative pressure requirement of a first dust removal port is controlled by a pressure sensor, so as to reduce the amount of cold air mixed into the first dust removal port, the steel scrap preheating efficiency of the burners and electric arc furnace flue gas is increased by controlling the flow rate and temperature of mixed flue gas, and the production is made more environment-friendly.
FOAMY SLAG CONDITIONER COMPOUND
A compound for forming a foamy slag layer for use in an electric arc furnace, is described. The electric arc furnace has a chamber for melting scrap steel and an opening for introducing material into the chamber. The compound has un-calcined dolomite ore having a weight percentage from about 10% to about 60% and carbon having a weight percentage from about 40% to about 90%. The un-caicined dolomite ore and carbon are introduced to the chamber of the electric arc furnace while the scrap steel is being melted to form a foamy slag layer on the surface of the molten steel.
