Grab Bar Assembly for Shower and Bathtubs
This present invention discloses an easy to install and repositionable grab bar assembly that provides support for users while using a shower, bathtub, spa or the like. The grab bar assembly is comprised of a grab bar, a back plate with slots and anchoring elements to secure the assembly to a wall surface. The grab bar assembly is attached to the wall surface by placing the backplate against the wall surface so as to align the slots to pre-drilled holes in the wall surface. The anchoring elements and other securing components are then tightened to secure the grab bar assembly to the wall. The slot-based design enables an individual to slide the grab bar as required by the user.
Adjustable Grab Bar Apparatus
The invention provides an adjustable grab bar apparatus that allows a user to easily and quickly position the grab bar to suit his/her particular requirements and capabilities, without the need for tools and/or additional hardware. Adjustment may be done by users with impaired dexterity and/or limited strength, since adjustment is accomplished using a simple interface such as a manual crank, a switch (e.g., push-button or touch sensitive), a foot pedal, etc. Embodiments include a self-locking feature wherein the grab bar remains secure at any user-selected position, and adjustment is a simple one-step procedure in that there is no need to disengage a locking mechanism prior to adjusting the grab bar position and/or engage a locking mechanism after adjusting the grab bar position.
WALK IN BATH
A walk in bath includes a shell, a door, and a seal member. The shell defines a bathing area and includes a wall with an opening therein. The door is moveable relative to the wall between a closed position, in which the door engages the opening, and an open position allowing ingress into and egress from the bathing area through the opening. The seal member is located between the wall and the door in the closed position to seal a gap therebetween to prohibit water from leaking from the bathing area through the gap. The seal member includes a first end, a second end, and an intermediate hollow section extending between the first and second ends. Each of the first and second ends is closed to prevent water from entering into the seal member.
METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR CONCEALING BODY SUPPORT
A walk-in bathing environment is used by people who may have trouble getting in and out of standard bathtubs or showers. Rotatable grab bars are positioned in and around the bathing environments to aid in entering the environments, exiting the environments, sitting, standing, and otherwise moving relative to the bathing environment. The rotatable grab bars may be placed on the walls, top, external, or generally on and around the bathing environment such that a user can grab the one or more rotatable grab bars in order to provide support for moving relative to the bathing environment. The rotatable grab bars are connected to the environment such that they can be moved between a use and a non-use configuration, such that the rotatable grab bars are extending from a portion of the housing only when desired by the user.

VERTICAL BATHTUB CLOSURE SYSTEMS AND METHODS
Embodiments described herein include a bathtub closure system having a step, the step having a first side panel, a second side panel, and an elongated platform defining a cavity, where the cavity can be configured to facilitate ingress and egress into a bathtub. The bathtub closure system can include a closure, where the closure can be coupled with the step and can cooperate with the step to form a substantially watertight seal when the closure is in a closed position.
Convertible Bathing System
A convertible bathing system (1) adapted to be used with a toilet (100), the convertible bathing system (1) including: a) a bathing plate (2) with a drain hole (4) and a handle (6); and b) a folding frame (10) with one or more fixed legs (12) connected to one or more folding legs (14) by one or more crossmembers (24) connected to the bathing plate (2). The convertible bathing system (1) has a vertical storage position and a horizontal bathing position (52). In the vertical storage position the bathing plate (2) is folded above a tank (101) of the toilet (100) out of the way of the toilet (100). In the horizontal bathing position (52), the bathing plate (2) is disposed over a waste opening (102) of the toilet (100), aligning the drain hole (4) with the waste opening (102). When the one or more crossmembers (24) are in the vertical position, the one or more folding legs (14) fold into a parallel relationship with the one or more crossmembers (24). In the horizontal position (52), the one or more folding legs (14) are folded down into a perpendicular relationship with the one or more crossmembers (24).
Grab rail with automatically activated light
A grab rail with automatically activated light including: a straight longitudinal bar having a front longitudinal face and a rear longitudinal face and hollow openings at each end; two light units, each sealingly but releasably secured in one of said hollow end openings; a battery source connected with the light units and located inside the bar; at least one noise activated switching device operatively associated with said LED light units and battery source; and at least one post mount with flange, wherein an end of the post distal the flange is secured to the rear longitudinal face of the bar.
Vertical bathtub closure systems and methods
Embodiments described herein include a bathtub closure system having a step, the step having a first side panel, a second side panel, and an elongated platform defining a cavity, where the cavity can be configured to facilitate ingress and egress into a bathtub. The bathtub closure system can include a hinged closure, where the closure can be coupled with the step and can cooperate with the step to form a substantially watertight seal when the closure is in a closed position.
