A method for recovering metals, such as noble metals or copper, from secondary materials and other materials having organic constituents, wherein the organic components are extracted from the secondary materials and other material by thermal treatment in a process chamber and the secondary materials and other materials having organic constituents are prepared for the recovery process.

COPPER/TIN/LEAD PRODUCTION

A dilute copper metal composition includes 57-85% wt Cu, ≥3.0% wt Ni, ≤0.8% wt Fe, 7-25% wt Sn and 3-15% wt Pb. A process includes the steps of partially oxidizing a black copper composition to obtain a first copper refining slag and a first enriched copper metal, partially oxidizing the first enriched copper metal to obtain a second copper refining slag, whereby at least 37.0% wt of the amount of tin and lead processed is retrieved in the first and second copper refining slags together; and partially reducing the first copper refining slag to form a first lead-tin based metal composition and a first spent slag. The process further includes the steps of adding the second copper refining slag to the first lead-tin based metal composition, thereby forming a first liquid bath; and partially oxidizing the first liquid bath, thereby obtaining the dilute copper metal composition.

GAS INJECTION DEVICE

A gas injection device for introducing a process gas into a non-ferrous metal melt and/or slag, in particular a copper melt and/or copper slag, including a hollow-cylindrical lance which is formed from a refractory material and/or graphite, preferably includes a refractory material and/or graphite. The lance has an inlet opening for the process gas and a gas injection module connected to the hollow-cylindrical lance and formed from a refractory material and/or graphite, preferably including a refractory material and/or graphite, with at least one outlet opening for the process gas. The outlet opening includes at least one throughflow element formed from a ceramic material via which the process gas can be introduced into the melt.

Pyrorefining process

A disclosed process produces at least one concentrated copper product together with at least one crude solder product, starting from a black copper composition with at least 50% of copper together with at least 1.0% wt of tin and at least 1.0% wt of lead The process includes the step of partially oxidizing the black copper thereby forming a first copper refining slag, followed by partially reducing the first copper refining slag to form a first lead-tin based metal composition and a first spent slag. The total feed to the reducing step includes an amount of copper that is at least 1.5 times as high as the sum of the amounts of Sn plus Pb present, and the first spent slag includes at most 20% wt total of copper, tin and lead together.

Method of continuously processing nickel-containing copper sulphide materials

A method of continuously processing nickel-containing copper sulphide materials into blister copper, waste slag, and copper-nickel alloy includes oxidizing smelting along with SiO2 and CaO-containing fluxes and coal in a conversion furnace for conversion to produce blister copper, gases with concentration of SO.sub.2, and slag with an SiO2:CaO concentration ratio of 0.4:1 to 3:1, in which the sum of the iron, nickel, and cobalt is not more than 30 wt. %, at a specific oxygen consumption in the range of 150-240 Nm.sup.3 per ton of dry sulphide material, and depleting the slag in a separate reduction furnace, using a mixture of an oxygen-containing gas and a hydrocarbon fuel at an oxygen consumption coefficient (α) in a range of 0.5 to 0.9, while supplying coal in an amount of up to 15% of weight of the slag produced by the oxidizing smelting, to produce a waste slag and a copper-nickel alloy.

Disclosed is a method of fabricating a construction element, the method comprising the manufacturing of a construction element including a slag, wherein the slag is comprising, on a dry basis and whereby the presence of a metal is expressed as the total of the metal present as elemental metal and the presence of the metal in an oxidized state, a) at least 7% wt and at most 49% wt of iron, Fe, b) at most 1.3% wt of copper, Cu, c) at least 24% wt and at most 44% wt of silicon dioxide, SiO.sub.2, d) at least 1.0% wt and at most 20% wt of calcium oxide, CaO, e) at least 0.10% wt and at most 1.50% wt of zinc, Zn, f) at least 0.10% wt and at most 2.5% wt of magnesium oxide, MgO, and g) at most 0.100% wt of lead, Pb.

Further disclosed are improved construction elements comprising the slag.

IMPROVEMENT IN COPPER/TIN/LEAD PRODUCTION

A disclosed dilute copper metal composition has 57-85% wt Cu, ≥3.0% wt Ni, ≤0.8% wt Fe, 7-25% wt Sn and 3-15% wt Pb. Slag from non-ferrous metal production

Disclosed is a slag comprising, on a dry basis and expressed as the total of the metal present as elemental metal and the presence of the metal in an oxidized state, a) at least 7% wt and at most 49% wt of Fe, b) at most 1.3% wt of Cu, c) at least 24% wt and at most 44% wt of SiO.sub.2, and d) at least 2.0% wt and at most 20% wt of CaO, characterised in that the slag comprises, on the same basis, e) at least 0.10% wt and at most 1.00% wt of Zn, f) at least 0.10% wt and at most 2.5% wt of MgO, and g) at most 0.100% wt of Pb. Further disclosed are an improved object comprising the slag, a process for the production of the slag, and a number of uses of the slag, whereby the slag may comprise up to at most 1.50% wt of zinc and down to 1.0% wt of CaO.

ALLOY POWDER AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING SAME

Provided are: an alloy powder that can be obtained from a waste lithium ion battery, wherein the alloy powder can be dissolved in an acid solution and enables recovery of metals contained in the alloy powder; and a method for producing the alloy powder. This alloy powder contains Cu and at least one of Ni and Co as constituent components, wherein a portion having a higher concentration of the at least one of Ni and Co than the average concentration in the entire alloy powder is distributed on at least the surface, and the phosphorus grade is less than 0.1% by mass. The method for producing the alloy powder includes a powdering step for powdering a molten alloy using a gas atomization method, the molten alloy containing Cu and at least one of Ni and Co as constituent components and having a phosphorus grade of less than 0.1% by mass.

IMPROVED PYROMETALLURGICAL PROCESS

A process for producing a solder product and a copper product from a first lead-tin based metal composition having at least 40% wt of copper and at least 5.0% wt together of tin and lead. The process includes the steps of partially oxidizing a first liquid bath having the first lead-tin based metal composition, thereby forming a first dilute copper metal composition and a first solder refining slag, followed by separating the slag from the metal composition, and partially oxidizing a second liquid bath having the first dilute copper metal composition, thereby forming a first high-copper metal composition and a third solder refining slag, followed by separating the third solder refining slag from the first high-copper metal composition,
whereby the solder product is derived from the first solder refining slag.
