METHOD OF PRODUCING SmFeN-BASED ANISOTROPIC MAGNETIC POWDER AND SmFeN-BASED ANISOTROPIC MAGNETIC POWDER
A method of producing a SmFeN-based anisotropic magnetic powder is provided, the method including preparing a SmFeN-based anisotropic magnetic powder before dispersing comprising Sm, Fe, W, and N, and dispersing the SmFeN-based anisotropic magnetic powder before dispersing using a resin-coated metal media or a resin-coated ceramic media to obtain a SmFeN-based anisotropic magnetic powder. Also provided is a SmFeN-based anisotropic magnetic powder comprising Sm, Fe, W, and N and having an average particle size of less than 2.5 μm, a residual magnetization σr of not less than 130 emu/g, and an oxygen content of not higher than 0.75% by mass.

A thermoelectric material according to the present invention including at least Al, Fe, and Si and represented by a general formula of Al.sub.12+p−qFe.sub.38.5+3qSi.sub.49.5−p−2q (where p satisfies 0≤p≤16.5 and q satisfies −0.34≤q≤0.34) and including a phase represented by Al.sub.2Fe.sub.3Si.sub.3 as a main phase.

SPUTTERING TARGET FOR HEAT-ASSISTED MAGNETIC RECORDING MEDIUM
Provided is a sputtering target to be used for forming a granular magnetic thin film in which FePt magnetic grains are isolated by an oxide and which constitutes a heat-assisted magnetic recording medium having enhanced uniaxial magnetic anisotropy, thermal stability, and SNR (signal-to-noise ratio).
The sputtering target for a heat-assisted magnetic recording medium contains an FePt alloy and a nonmagnetic material as main components, where the nonmagnetic material is an oxide having a melting point of 800° C. or higher and 1100° C. or lower.
